What is CFO GCP?

Yes, she is a Filipino national and working in Taiwan.  We've listed her mailing address in Taiwan.  Any issues you see here?  Additionally, she is obviously cleared to work in Taiwan so her background is clear but does it create any issues you are aware of?

This question has been raised a few times but I don't recall the answers.  I believe they need to interview in the country that their passport is issued from.  This is a hot question over the past few days so we should have a definitive answer soon.

GCP is the Guidance and Counseling Program that is required to get a sticker in her passport that allows her to leave the Philippines.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

@ernestadkins...I just got this answer in the Philippines forum..

Yes, the OFW can interview in the country that they are presently in at that point in time AS LONG as they are valid resident of that country. Such as having a work/family visa for that particular country is fine. GCP is not needed as long as they DO NOT fly to the Philippines and then to the USA. Yes, that is a question that does occasionally come up here as well. If they touch Philippine soil then they are required to go through GCP before heading to the USA and they can/will be turned away at the airport.

If they are residents in that country they can abide by those rules in that country such as divorce. It is common for Filipinos abroad to get a divorce in HK, Singapore, or any other country that allows divorce because the Philippines does not recognize divorce. But the USA will recognize that divorce and that person can be petitioned to live in the USA for a K1/CR1 visa after that as long as they have that divorce decree in hand.

Just to clarify John & Rose it wasn't you that started it, not to me anyway. Now I admit your comment made me second guess sending to many pictures but that was cleared up quickly it was the other person chiming in which I'm fine with them now as well. I didn't mean to get a dispute started. I know I was to defensive and I am sorry for that. I just didn't want others reading it second guessing what they sent in based on one person's opinion. That was my whole point because this is already stressful enough. We need to be here to help one another and lift each other up after all no one understands our heart ache better than fellow visa journey members. I am too choosing to keep quiet from here on out just for the simple reason I really don't want to start anymore arguments. I wish you all the best and I will be steadily lurking hoping everyone's receives very good news in the coming weeks!

She will still need the NBI certificate from the Philippines.

Buhr, do not think about this wait or the process too much for now. Your journey has just begun and it will be hard but the light at the end of this dark tunnel will be more than just worth it. I know we will all get our happily ever after . Just be careful not to get too stressed out in the meantime bcz it doesn't just take a toll on you but it also affects everyone else around you including your significant other so just keep enjoying your relationship and just remember that it only gets better from here on.
