I am a February filer, still waiting on NOA2 which is nowhere in sight. On July 10th I did an inquiry and on July 25th I received a letter stating I was put on processing hold for security checks. On Sept 12th I called and talked to a level tier 2 rep who offered to do an inquiry. Days later, on the 18h USCIS finally moved there processing dates forward to March 1st. I decided I might as well cover all bases and submit an inquiry for past processing date just to be sureit got addressed. On Sept 29th I received a letter stating my case would be adjudicated within 45 days.... I was thrilled, finally an end in sight. To my dismay, today I receive an email from the 18th inquiry for past processing, stating that I was put on processing hold for security checks. At this point, I know longer believe this excuse because you cannot be adjudicated until you pass checks. Has anyone else experienced this? I am trying my best to make an infopass so I can go in person an bring all my pictures and evidence and cuurent trip from August pics. Right now I don't even know which to believe. But it seems these are 2 different departments and idk if because of the first inquiry, my case was unavailable to the 2nd inquiry. My mind is running all sorts or scenarios all the while my heart is completely broken as I thought my end was in sight and now its all been taken away. I'd appreciate anyones thoughts on this. I already wrote my congresswoman to do an inquiry again, cause its been three months and we will address this discrepancy. Plus I wrote CSC at their email listing both inquiries receipts number and pointing out the contradiction. Some hope or insight would be appreciated....

The 45 day reply you got is an auto generated letter. Its how long they hope it will take to be resolved. You are in security checks. It takes a while. For some people it takes a long time. You may have a common name or have traveled a lot.

If youve been stuck in "checks" for over 6 months there could be a problem. Do you know when you were placed in checks? You can contact the Obudsman or a congressperson to inquire on your behalf. They wont get anything back but that you are in checks but then at least you know someone has actually checked your case and its just normal processing delays.
