I'm interviewing finally for a spouse visa tomorrow in London. It's all happened much quicker than expected I must say. We mailed off the original petition on July 4th and we've delayed medical/interview but now  I'm ready.

I'll be going to the interview with my 12 week old son, husband will be outside unfortunately as I didn't register him to come in time! Whoops.

I just have some last minute questions. My brains turned to mush since having a new baby and looking after a toddler and in the middle of a house sale (I want to scream!).

1. Can I pay with a UK visa debit card, HSBC for example?

2. Husband is sponsoring me. He has a new position starting in San Diego with his current employer.  What proof of this would I bring?

3. I have a previous marriage to another American. Am I going to get eaten alive by the interviewer?!

4. My appointment is at 11.30. Do I get there at 11 and just the q for visas?

5. I'm dreading this! 4am wake up in Manchester, kid drop off then train. It's gonna be a long day. Anyone around?!

Thanks!

Have your husband take his US passport and try to sweet talk him in when you get there.  Others have done that including my fiancé (wife) with no prior registration.

1. Yes, a U.K. card works.

2. A letter from the employer outlining the transfer, salary.

3. No. They are just checking you are currently eligible and have the proper paperwork. They aren't judging your life.

4. 11:00 is good. If too many show up way early they shoo them off. You can try earlier because many will be doing the same. It is first come first served more than by exact appointment time.

5. Have a good day. And remember if you don't have the right stuff with you, they have you send it back to them via courier and finish precessing the visa when they get it. You don't get denied or anything that serious. You are "paused" until they have the paperwork needed.

Thanks for your reply!! One more q. Should I have received any acknowledgement from the Embassy when they received results from my medical? My medical was September 7th. Everything seemed to be OK - paid £350, they gave me some documents I need to keep for future job etc. I've not heard anything since then really,  just went ahead and booked my interview? Hope I've done this right! 😭

No they do not confirm receipt. It goes by courier and is a pretty solid system.
