On another forum I frequent the main topic title is "Yet another mass shooting in America" it's just expected now. It's never expected in Europe.

I'm not, it appears to me people are happy with the status quo and don't want any meaningful change to prevent attacks like this from happening again on this scale and regularity.

 

The Constitution is a great document but the second amendment is sorely outdated written up over 200 years ago. It needs to be modernized and brought into the 21st century.

Nope, I was responding to a commenter that thinks a mass shooting is something to be set apart from a terrorist attack where a truck or bomb or knife is used.

Because its easier to get a gun here just like it's easier to get a big truck in Europe. Getting rid of either one wont stop crazy people from killing. Some of the biggest mass killings happened without guns. Do you think if there was a magic wand that could make all the guns in the world disappear that people would just become loving and peaceful?

Yes and our politicians are too chicken to update it for fear of backlash from a minority of the population. Gun ownership in this country has been on the decline for a good number of years. Gun sales have gone up but that is more to do with fewer people buying large stockpiles of weapons.

No but we can reduce the body count can't we? Isn't that enough? To enact meaningful legislation that will help reduce the victims of gun violence in this country?
