do you have a problem with the legal bump stocks being restricted?

Nope. They have been around a while and I never saw them but nothing  more than a gimmick that makes accurate shooting impossible. I wouldn't have taken one for free if offered one.

well, there's a start with a new acceptable restriction.

Well I would have listed that but I don't have all day. Isn't it already illegal to have ricin? How can we make it more illegal to use it to kill people in mass quantities? I am having a hard time understanding your point. FYI, howitzers, nuclear weapons, missiles, grenades, and many other things are restricted for civilian ownership as well just in case you want to bring those up.

Your point was that you don't like restricting the things on your list that could be used in a harmful way. I'm asking why stop there? Ricin would be great deterrent to anyone trying to harm you. And we all know ricin doesn't kill people, people kill people.

I left out howitzers and nukes because they're difficult for most people to carry around concealed. I was trying to be practical with my suggestions. Grenades would work.

Just as much damage could have been done without them though so I'm not sure how outlawing them will prevent anything. Some people can bump fire without them. Just takes a little practice. A rubber band can be used as well with even less practice. That's the problem with people who have no idea about guns and shooting making laws. They are usually based on emotions and appearance of features than in reality.

I'm still waiting for you to show me how a 223 caliber cartridge is more dangerous now than it was 30 years ago.

Wasn't the initial point of contention that weapons technology has changed since the time the constitution was written?  Where did 30 years come from?

Really irrelevant, if you try and bring logic into this the thread ends.

Concentrate on feelings.

Go back and read a few pages. My point was that this kind of ####### didn't happen 30 years ago and CaliCat said wepaons are more lethal now than they used to be. Anyways, it's all there for you to read if you wanna.

so we're back to the pointlessness of regulation/law. and i thought we were getting somewhere.

from my stance, both extremes of the 2nd amendment rely heavily on emotions. yes, the reality is that most americans aren't going to cause harm to anyone else with their guns, they're not out to cause mass casualties. but there's absolutely no harm in trying to make mass shootings a little more difficult to carry out, or at least when they do happen to get the body count down. and doing so certainly doesn't infringe on anyone's basic 2nd amendment right.

I just told you I have no problem with bump fire stocks being made illegal. Do you even know what bump firing is?

There was a lady trying to marry a Dolphin in Israel some years back.

Not sure that is a pet?

lemme just show off my google skills:

Quote

Bump firing is the act of using the recoil of a semi-automatic firearm to fire shots in rapid succession, which simulates the ability of a fully automatic firearm.
