It seems to be a recurring theme, that whenever there is a tragedy like this take place. Decency is becoming passe.

I know right.  Did you catch the CBS exec who had no sympathy because pubs like country music or the dem rep who refused to do the moment of silence or crooked Hillary who called for outlawing silencers. Sick.

There seems a commonality in that the usual suspects prefer to focus on things that have no chance of happening, would not be effective if they did but are designed to piss off as many people as possible.

"Overall, our results show that the United States, which has the most firearms per capita in the world,31 suffers disproportionately from firearms compared with other highincome countries. These results are consistent with the hypothesis that our firearms are killing us rather than protecting us."

Excellent source of actual data to compare our country to other high-income countries within the OECD. They use WHO data where definitions are set among all countries, so there aren't any flaws in how different countries report events differently.

Another interesting article. Average annual admission cost of 622 million dollars for firearm related hospitalizations. 1/4 of those are from uninsured.

Like banning ear plugs, they are encouraged in the UK.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Technically it isn't the  NIH that is publishing that article. The NIH runs pubmed which is an online search database for publications.

The first one is published by American Journal of Medicine The second one was published by Injury Epidemiology. The second article's topic is obviously much more narrow and therefore it is published in a more narrow publication.

I understand winning is good.
