Again not to minimize the violence involved in the acid attacks but...

The UK is already working towards banning their sale to minors.

"But what about my right to bear acid!?!?!"

It really isn't that complex. You see a problem that impacts the safety and security of you people, and you work to fix it. That is what a government exists for. Priorities should be right to life > right to carry a deadly weapon every day of the week.

There isn't a right to bear acid

Becuause of our constitution we can't do much about guns. Amendments can be removed with a super majority. But yeah right.

Lorries have valuable applications outside of mass murder.

They do.  They can also do a lot of damage in the wrong hands.

Ahh, the Stratford attack. Not to minimize it but that was described as 6  minor injuries. How does that even compare to what we have seen caused by firearms?

Getting doused with acid is minor?  I know I always treat that stuff with the proper PPE.

The attack in France with a lorry was a horrific act.

However that doesn't change the fact that those scenarios are FAR harder to come by than massive gun attacks. Can they happen? Of course they can. But guns, which are exclusively a violent weapon, are a far lower hanging fruit that cause far more damage.

As I said before, even with gun control no one would expect gun attacks to disappear. Nothing is going to make it go away 100%. We will still have crazy people, we will still have terrorists. Evidence from other countries just show that we will have less if we have better control and limit access to deadly weapons. Alternative means will still exist, but the most common ones (acid, knives etc...) aren't nearly as deadly.

Yes people can steal a plane and use it as a weapon. But the frequency with which that happens is not the same as gun violence. Not to mention the fact that they can BOTH be addressed at the same time.

What about the attack in OK City?  Wasn't a truck used for that one as well?

Well don't I have the freedom to carry acid? What about my personal liberty?

I believe our three core rights (Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness) come before our 2nd amendment right. Unfortunately in today's world the 2nd amendment right is infringing on individuals primary 3 rights. It needs to change.

More minor than 58 deaths and 400 injured.

Yes so we have to balance restrictions with reasonable use.

Guns have far fewer "reasonable uses", but they still require control. The fact that we are a massive outlier when it comes to gun violence suggests we haven't balanced their "reasonable uses" with "reasonable control" at this point. We can do a lot better. At the same time we can work on improving safety of trucks if you'd like. We can multitask :)

(I Can't seem to add your quote of Oklahoma City here while editing)

I'd categorizing OC under the "explosive" category. The truck itself didn't destroy an entire building, it was the thousands of pounds of explosives in the truck.

So can almost anything. A penny from a tall building. Guns don't have any other valuable application. And they're very good at killing things.

I still equate personal protection as a "reasonable use" and a very important one at that.  Can't carry around a police officer all the time, and I cannot afford a group of bodyguards either.

There's a path to change it but it's next to impossible. I doubt even democrats would advocate abolishing the 2nd amendment. Vote accordingly I guess.

Context is hard to convey. Guy assumes I'm Canadian because of the flag under my profile. Despite knowing there's an equal chance I'm the American petitioner. Ya dig?

Opposite happened to me earlier, member ignored my flag and assumed I was American.

The only way the 2nd gets abolished is an Article V convention, but who knows what else will be changed?
