Hello,

You can have your PCC from Regional passport office for your specific town. You have to schedule the appointment online as you do for fresh passport. It is a simple process you have to carry your original passport,a copy of first and last two pages. he will stamp your pcc for USA on the passport and two copies of PCC certificate.

The cost for obtaining it is 500 rupees.

You dont need anything from any police station.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the info! How much time did it take for you to receive the PCC through the Regional Passport Office?

I want to update the topic got my PCC from Pune PSK last week that is where my districts regional passport is situated.

Another surprise by them last time i got my PCC from Nagpur office as now my regional passport in Pune.

The Nagpur office just gave me the PCC on the spot with a stamp on passport but Pune office did not give me on spot.

They gave me a pre-verification receipt although I showed them that I got it last time on the spot but they said they are not gonna give it on the same day they would carry police verification from the local police station and after that, you can get it.

The officer was so rude each one they were like you would know the process or the police would tell you the process.

I was just shocked by their unprofessional behavior.

next day I got SMS that the verification has been sent to SP office and i had someone who I know so i visited the SP office they just forwarded the verification to the local police station next day I got call from them, same documents as you make a new passport aadhar and all that stuff you gave at psk, thing is we are respected family so it was a piece of cake.

after 2 days i got the sms that PCC is ready to pick up.

i went to PSK no queues for it they just said go to C counter gave me the token went in. got in 5 min but they did not stamp my passport this time i insisted but the officer said they are not stamping these days the process has been withdrawn.

but i see it as a stupidity they should take the police verification before as we have to make the one extra trip just to get the printout either they should send it by post at least.

hope it helps

It's a bummer that things are still very inconsistent and convoluted in India. Seems like the Pune RPO (Regional Passport Office) took one step backwards compared to the Nagpur PSK (Passport Seva Kendra). I am glad you were able to finally get your PCC.

I"ll be trying this process in Punjab shortly, and I'll update this thread with my experience. Thanks for the detailed write-up, it definitely helps!
