Hi guys,

Just an update. I had my interview earlier today and it went well. We only waited 10 minutes before we got called in. The officer recommended us for approval.  We were asked about the history of our relationship (how we met, when did we decide to get married, etc.),  personal information, (age, bday, address, names, wedding date,), and asked for more photos and that was it for the interview. We were at the interview room for an hour, because the officer and my husband ended up talking about basketball.  (Let's GO WARRIORS!)

Anyways, the whole process was pretty painless. Thank goodness!

Now, the waiting game begins for the Green Card. :)

Hi,

I had my AOS interview on 02/06 at San Jose field office. Even we were in the interview room for an hour but it was smooth. The Interview Officer was pleasant and friendly and she made us feel like we were having a casual conversation and not an interview. But I have not been told whether  I will be recommended for GC or not. Should i be worried?

Hi,

Yeah that was actually the feeling the officer was giving us. Relax & casual. But by the end of the interview, the officer congratulated us and told us that I should receive my GC within 3-7 weeks and that it will be a conditional GC since we're married for less than 2 years. I don't think you should be worried. I'm sure your interview went just as well. :)

We also had our interview at the SJ office last Friday 02/02. The interview went pretty smoothly. The officer went through our application and made some updates for some minor updates. It took him a little bit of time doing this as we were his first case with the new AOS form. He definitely took his time to go through the application. He asked where we met and about the wedding that we didn't have (we're a same sex couple and chose not to have a wedding b/c of family reasons). He also asked if we had anything additional we wanted to add to our file. We handed him all our photos along with evidence of joint bank accounts, phone bills, health and life insurance. He didn't look through any of it, just added to file. He told us he didn't have any reason to not approve us (though he didn't say he would approve) and to wait 4-6 weeks (as he's required to say) for an update.

We received a text for USCIS today about our case status changing. Upon checking, our case is now in an approved state. Waiting for the GC now. I've gotta say, the SJ office seems to be processing AOS pretty quickly compared to other offices.

Just got my greencard in the mail. :)

Mailed in my application October 24th, 2017.

NOA1 date was October 26th, 2017.

Biometrics November 24th, 2017.

EAD came December 26th, 2017.

I-485 Interview January 23rd, 2018.

Approval Notice January 27th, 2018.

Physical Conditional CF1 Permanent Resident Card arrived January 31st, 2018.

101 days from putting my papers in to getting my physical green card.

97 days from NOA1 to physical green card.

I feel very lucky to have had it done so quickly (compared to official timelines anyway) but I think this bodes well for other people applying in the same month, good luck to everyone and I'll probably be around posting more again when it comes to ROC.
