Thats what im planning. Just apply in person. Calling hasn't been helpful at all. If I call USCIS, they tell me to call SSA.. if I call SSA, they tell me to call USCIS haha..

I'm adjusting from B2.. Really? Maybe other areas in florida. in Orlando, there seems to be a huge delay because I've looked at VJ timelines from Orlando, there are several still waiting for interview as far as Feb  2017 filers :( Although there are a  who had a fast turnover.

Yes, apply in person. I went last Thursday and already had the card in my hands on Tuesday. It comes from Baltimore so if you live on the east coast it’s even faster. I’d recommend making an appointment though. Waiting times are excruciatingly long !!!

I didn’t make one so I’m not sure ... maybe online? You need EAD, passport and birth certificate (translation not needed)!!

New SSN, first time getting one. And no, I didn’t use that form. I probably printed them out before they released it so I didn’t even know you could request at the same time.

oh i see, then you had to do your in person then. to be honest, like shakeyy, i am worried with this ssn-ead linking because they never have their act together and i am worried that the ssn will fall into the cracks somehow and then it will be a nightmare to fix. whereas, applying manually in person may necessitate a trip to the ss office but at least that part is up to us, in our control / schedule and something that we actually know what is going on!

Right I know what you mean. There was someone on here who said they received their SSN card one week after getting their EAD (who filed at the same time with that new form).  as usual USCIS has no predictable pattern :-/ either way a trip to the social office won’t hurt if you have the time !

2 days ago, I called SSA again, and that's when I talk to someone who knew the new process and told me it could take up to 6 weeks for the SSN card to be delivered. I'm still on my 4th week Haha..  i'LL just probably visit when 6 weeks has passed

Yeah it took a while. I waited for over an hour just to be seen, then had to go back home bc I didn’t have my birth certificate on me but the person who took care of me allowed me to jump the line when I came back. All in all I was there for a good 2.5-3 hours

when i went to get mine, i was there maybe 30 mins tops. there were only about 20 people but most had other ss issues and there were i think only 2 of us applying for a new ssn. i also went really early in the morning between 8-8.30 when they opened so that maybe helped.

My wife filed for her AP a few weeks after her EAD (using the EAD NOA1 so we didn't have to pay a fee), but the AP status just changed last night to "Your Advanced Parole Document Was Produced" while the EAD status remains "Case Was Received".

Any chance she's getting the combo card and not just her AP? Or does the EAD sometimes take longer to process than the AP?
