I woke up to 4 texts from USCIS today. That's the first time I have gotten text updates since the NOA1s.

They were all for the I-765 and on the website it says "Card was mailed to me" dated January 4th.

I'm obviously very happy but my interview is in 10 days. Do I have to take the card back to them? What if it doesn't get here in time?

Your upcoming interview is for your green card (adjustment of status). The card that was mailed (I-765) to you is for your employment authorization and advance parole; hence, your combo card. So I don't think you have to return your card, it's all yours to keep and use until your green card arrives upon your interview approval. ;)

Yes, I know the difference.

But on my interview notice it says I should bring it with me to the interview.

I wonder if it's gonna stay with them.

I may not even get it because I'll be leaving a couple days earlier.

ohh, I get it then. Well, If they told you to bring it then you should. As for keeping it, I'm not entirely sure. But based from my in law's experience, they were able to keep it until they received their green card. :) I'm not so sure with the processing for this year.

I woke up to exactly the same. Online tracker finally updated, and now it says that it had been updated 4 days ago. That’s strange since I check every day and it definitely still said “case was received” until yesterday for EAD
