Hi everyone,   I had my biometrics appointment today. It was pretty smooth I was out of there less than 15 minutes after arriving.

The only thing I would like to add is that my married name is different than my maiden name and I brought my passport as a picture ID with my maiden name in it, so the officer asked for my wedding certificate to check my name change.  I did not bring my wedding certificate because I didn't think it was necessary, it was not really a problem because he went on the back and looked through my files to see the copy of the wedding certificate I sent with my AOS. But to be honest I would have liked to know that they might ask for it just so it didn't look like I was unprepared.

AOS Timeline
15/Aug - Arrived in the US, Chicago POE
26/Aug - Wedding

18/Sep - Social Security Number

06/Oct - AOS Paperwork sent to the Chicago lockbox
08/Oct - USPS tracking says paperwork was delivered
10/Oct - USCIS says they received form I-175 and form I-131
16/Oct - USCIS accepted the fingerprint fee for form I-148 and forwarded paperwork to the National Benefits Center
17/Oct - Notification of Action for all the 3 forms received via text message and email (@ 11:45 pm)

21/Oct - Notification of Action for all 3 forms received via mail.

27/Oct - Received ASC appointment notice in the mail. Biometrics scheduled for 07/Nov

07/Nov - Biometrics appointment completed

Those that have a SSN. Did you all notice your SSN on the screen when fingerprinting?

How long is the wait to get an EAD after Biometrics? Average time?

Hey visitor, according to the visa journey database it takes an average of 68 days after biometrics to get your EAD :)

I do have a social security number but I didn't really look at the screen when they where taking my fingerprint. I did notice that none of the notice of action letters and my biometrics appointment letter had my SSN on it, just my alien number. Why do you ask though?

I haven't received mine as well, USCIS received my papers on the 31st. Looking at their timelines here, they got it around 7-8 days after USCIS received their forms. I'm also getting worried here.

thanks but wat i was thinking of is that in here california their marriage cert shows new middle name and new lastname after u got married and my mistake was i retain my middle name and just thinking about to change my last name to my husband name and now i want to correct that mistake in AOS filling is that fine?

In California, name change is done when you apply for the marriage license. Did you put your new name there? It will be reflected on your marriage license/certificate.

Name change cannot be done after purchasing the marriage license. Unless you file a name change in court (that is my understanding).
