How many SRs have you done? Did you try calling the local office too? Your file may be there, but If it's NY they may have a lot of cases. I got my interview scheduled a few days after the told me they would, i don't think it's supposed to take that long.

I made an inquiry on my case and they never got back to me on that. I called them and it turns out my case is in New York City (worst possible place). The lady said she'll put in a request for them to work on the inquiry I made on my I-485. She said that since I am a minor they usually give children priority. Since everyone from New York seems to be getting their interviews 1 year after applying I guess I should expect mine around September 2018 as well.

  • Arrived to USA on F-1 Student Visa on 08/16/2016
  • Submitted I-485 & I-130 on 09/25/2017
  • Approved Green Card (IR7 category) on 05/17/2019
  • Electronically submitted N-400 (w/ name change) on 02/19/2024
  • Biometrics Reuse received on 02/19/2024
  • Interview Notice received on 04/21/2024
  • Interview at Chicago FO on 06/10/2024
  • Oath Ceremony on 07/15/2024
  • Applied for Expedited US Passport at USPS on 07/15/2024
  • PASSPORT RECEIVED on 07/26/2024 🇺🇸

Oh, i'm sorry to hear. Yeah, sadly the big city offices are absolutely swamped. I hope you get it sooner though, best of luck!

Yes they update the receipt , did you have your interview yet ?

Did you have your interview yet ?

No I have not. So I was hoping it was an interview notification of some kind. I have seen that a lot of people on this forum who followed this AOS from K1 in Atlanta, took around 7 months from submission to interview notification, but I am at 8 months so far. I am not worried or anything.

Hi,

You can create an account online with IRS & get all of your taxes there. It's a hit and miss sometimes though, as their addresses format don't always allow that and they send a pass code through mail, still. I got my tax transcript in about 7 days after requesting them, not sure if you need them sooner than that. If i may ask, what has a deadline in august?

There's no tax to pay, the transcripts are free. Do you mean he hasn't filed for taxes yet? If he hasn't, you will need to find a co-sponsor and file a new form i-864 to include them.

this does not make sense.

First, does your partner have a job? You said "he has not paid taxes". Does he have a job not requiring withheld taxes? If so, either he has filed a 2017 tax return form extension with IRS before April 15th, 2018 or he has filed a tax return form with IRS  before April 15th, 2018. If neither way, he needs to pay a tax penalty and at the same time filing a tax form to IRS. What USCIS needs is your Form 1040 copy.

Second, if your partner does not have a job, or his income does not exceed the poverty line, you need a co-sponsor who is a direct relative of him and also has decent income to support your case.

All in all, your "he will gonna" vs "already" confused us. Please quote the sentence from your RFE letter so we can help you more efficiently.

10/12/2017: AOS Receive Date (I-485, I-130, I-765, I-131)

10/25/2017: USCIS Notice Date

11/10/2017: Fingerprint Completed

04/02/2018: 1st SR raised

04/05/2018: Contacted Congressman

04/10/2018: Congressman feedback - the case has been expedited

04/15/2018: 1st Infopass - knowing the case was assigned to an officer on 04/14/2018

04/28/2018: Congressman feedback - there will be an RFE letter coming

04/30/2018: RFE Mail from USCIS for 2017 Tax Return

05/01/2018: 2nd SR raised

05/01/2018: 2nd Infopass - got the printed copy from the officer for the RFE letter and mailed the required document to USCIS on the same day

05/14/2018: 2nd SR completed

05/16/2018: Called USCIS - 2nd tier officer confirmed the SR was to notifying AP/EAD have been approved.

I believe she means that he owes taxes this year and has not paid them yet. Seemed pretty clear to me. But I may be wrong.

If this is the case, then @Emmz he can pay his taxes now, meanwhile try to make the account online so you get the transcript as soon as IRS has it available. If they mail it to you it will take longer, but i don't know how long between you paying and them registering the payment. Don't delay, so you don't have complications later on! Good luck!

I called Uscis again this morning and then requested a call from a 2level officer.

They just called me back, and said that the processing time for EAD/AP is 6-8 months, and to wait to send another inquiry until the mark of the 8th month.

The lady that called was very kind and gentle!

 I130 approved 10/18/2016 - PD 07/11/2016

My AOS timeline: I-765, I-131, I-485

10/12/17:Package sent

10/17/17: Package received

10/24/17: NOA received. Priority date: 10/23/17

10/30/17: Biometric appointment notice

11/13/17: Biometric appointment done

In few days i will finish the 8th month. Why does their website say 2.5 to 5 months? why some people who file in Feb/March already got theirs? How long you have been waiting?
