Check with your lawyer, after you apply you’re on a AOS Pending status and you don’t need to study anymore. Anyways you should get it before August.

Do you have the link of this "law" or rule?

I'm in the same boat as you. I went to an infopass to ask this question. The officer told me I don't need to keep F1 status, I just need to have my EAD renewed.

But my lawyer told me it's not true. He has a pair of cases where the GC was denied because the applicant didn't have any other visa but only a pending AOS. Actually I don't want to take this risk.

Btw, 208 days and counting.... No EAD, no AP, no RFE.

PD: Feb 2016 (I-130), current since Feb 2018.

That is interesting my lawyer was the one who recommended that, and to be honest my wife renewed her license two months ago wood say renew a license of a person without legal status?

What the lawyer said doesn't make sense. If your AOS is pending, and you applied when you were in Active status (i.e, USCIS received your application at the time you were in active status), then you should be ok waiting for the interview

I agree with you. The only risk here is if they deny your GC for any reason, you'll be immediately out of status and you'll have to leave the country.

But that's what my lawyer says according to his experience.

Yep, however is safe in case your AOS is rejected, as you won’t have to be running to get a F1 status somewhere. I want to say you’re playing odds, but if you have a strong marriage case , I would be surprised that they reject it. I have been married for for a considerable amount of time and have various joint assets and/or debts. It’s no guarantee, but these get usually approved.

Me neither, risking now it would be silly...

Yes, you should be ok waiting for the interview, but with the actual immigration situation in the USA I think that it is better to don't risk.

If there is a written law that specifics that point for spouse of LPR would be an easier decision to quit school, but if there isn't anything written I would not risk.

I’m travelling using the combo card this Monday, anyone used it yet? I’m having anxiety

I traveled to Switzerland last March and I had no problems to re-enter. At the customs the official took my passport and take me to a kind of waiting room. 15 minutes and later they called me, gave my passport and showed me the exit door.

Anyone used Mamoo in Pakistan site services to get BC from Pakistan?  They seem to be the most reputable and reliable based on my research. Cost is USD $250.

There is also Chachu In Pakistan and another Facebook Page.

I have no idea. I stayed two weeks in Switzerland and personally I won't stay more than that because they can ask you any time for RFE (for example) and you want to able to answer them as soon as possible.
