I got an RFE last week as well, they wanted a 2017 tax return. I'm waiting for my response to get to them and hopefully i also get approved in a week! It's been a loooong wait :(

Why would they want a 2017 Tax return if you were a 2017 filer?

No idea, we resent everything finance related to avoid another RFE for more proof of income. I guess that happens when they take so long another fiscal year is halfway through :clock:

Does that mean they will want my 2017 Federal Tax Return if I am an October filer with no EAD and Interview date yet?

What about the Medicals? That could eventually expire because it is valid for 1 year.

I submitted DHS form 7001 through https://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance

Did I need my Mother's consent before submitting the form since I am the Applicant but I am also a Beneficiary right? I have an approved I-130 where my mother was the petitioner.

This inquiry was about the pending I-485 and I-765.

I am the one who completed the entire form and signed it.

Verification (Section 13)

13. Consent: Please note that if you are the beneficiary of an immigration petition, consent of the individual or employer that submitted the petition on your behalf is required. The petitioner must sign.

I certify, under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States of America, that the foregoing is true and correct, and that I am the person encountering difficulties with USCIS (applicant/beneficiary/petitioner) and I understand that any falsification of this statement is punishable under the provisions of 18 U.S.C § 1001 by a fine of not more than $10,000 or by imprisonment of not more than five years or both, and that requesting or obtaining any record(s) under false pretenses is punishable under the provisions of 5 U.S.C. § 522a(i)(3) by a fine of not more than $5,000. Alternatively, I am the legal representative of record for the person encountering difficulties with USCIS (applicant/beneficiary/petitioner). I have included a copy of Form G-28 previously filed with USCIS.

Pursuant to 5 U.S.C § 522a(b), I authorize the Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman to release any and all information relating to me to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Updates: Katie has gotten a job and starts next Monday!!!

We are still waiting for an appointment for the interview. When I try to check the status of our 1485 on the USCIS case tracker I get a "user defined error" notice and cannot see any information :( I filed case status update online, but they say we'll hear back by May 15th. I am getting worried. The case tracker works great for our EAD/AP which were already approved, but the actual AOS is missing. We'll probably call as well, hopefully it's just an online issue.

Hey you  :)

Good to see you and the update on your case progress.  The user defined error seems to be something good and is usually a sign that you are about to get an interview letter.  We got the error first on March 26th and then on Saturday (4/21) we received our interview letter that was dated April 9th.  We still have the error and on the DHS site it's still showing that they've received our case.  Hopefully your interview letter will show up in the next few weeks.

We were surprised that we already received our interview letter.  Our package was delivered to Chicago on February 7th and our interview is scheduled in Chicago on May 14th.  We didn't expect to wait only a little over 3 months from receipt date to interview date and, if everything goes well at the interview, it looks like he will have his green card before receiving his EAD

Good luck to you and I hope to see some more good news from you soon!

So I called USCIS the other day to see why our GC application has not budged since we sent in our response to the RFE more than 180 days ago. I talked to a tier 2 officer who claimed that RFE add 60 days to your application because they are placed on hold. Has anyone else ever been told such specific information? I informed her that they received our response 180 days ago and she said "yes but the rfe adds 60 days to current processing times" which for us is between 7-20 months.

We have close friends who have a nearly identical case to ours (k1 visa, same country of origin, same field office). They applied almost two months after us for the GC and their status reads "scheduling interview". If they "go in order" I do not understand how we are stuck at "we received your response to our request for evidence".
