no, nothing changed. we are just hoping that our interviews will be waived because our local office is backlogged. that way, if it is waived then we may get our gc sooner.

I don't think I ever heard of a family based interview being waived.

Regarding the I-485 ( Adjust Of Status) 

You could either get a interview or the interview could be waived (no interview) your case will be forward to CSC ( California Service Center) where they will mail you your GC! 

 

-Some individuals stated getting a interview is better , you receive your GC faster.

-Also person who got their interview waived , received their GC in good timing as well.

it's actually the family based ones, esp if adjusting from K1, that have a chance of being waived, vs adjusting for example from B2 or J1.

 

there have been several people who got their interviews waived, in recent months. look through the sep/oct/nov filers group.

I read on here that AOS from any other kind of visa other than a K1, will automatically get an interview. For K1, there is a 50-50 chance whether one will be interviewed or not. i dunno how they select from the K1 pool, who gets an interview waiver though, appears to be totally random to me.

 

this is from 2012, but this is what the official USCIS policy on it, which states on page 2:

NBC identifies cases that may be eligible for an interview waiver, in part, by means of an electronic sweep of the case information obtained from the I-485 and/or I-130, if present. The following adjustment categories are considered possible interview waiver cases:

 Unmarried minor children and stepchildren of US Citizens (IR7 and CR7)

 Parent of US Citizen (IR0)

 K1/K2 entrant— Fiancé(e) of US Citizen and children of Fiancé(e) (CF1/CF2)

 Native/Citizen of Cuba filing under 11/2/66 Act (also spouses/children) (CU6/CU7)

 Unmarried & Under 14 year old child of Lawful Permanent Resident (F27)

Nothing changed for I-485/I-765 in the new USCIS site account. It does not even have the SR that I raised in the old site as well as the phone SR birth year correction on I-485.

 

Do I need to re submit the SRs from the new site account?

My Timeline changed: It use to be January 2018 for EAD.

that's close to a month in range. it used to be a week (or two). i dunno what's up with these processing times! i hope you have had some luck with your SR.

to be clear, i mean 1-2 weeks range here on VJ for adjudication estimate. not on the uscis website. i observed it from my own timeline and from following other people's timelines.
