thanks for the info @JoJoJoJo - good to know! sadly, we may never really know why companies don't hire candidates because really they are not obligated to state the exact reason why. usually they just give a standard answer, perhaps to cover their bases as well from potential discrimination complaints.

Hey hun, i'm here wondering the same thing about the EAD, been doing dozens of interview with also the same questions. I'm starting to believe that it does matter whether its an EAD you have or green card.

I know its getting so frustrating. But it does make sense. they may not call it discrimination but probably they would call it as "preference" because  if I put myself in the shoes of hiring managers, one might take into consideration whether to hire someone who has stronger ties to the country and most likely to stay longer and not have "Expiry" date stapled on their work permit. I got asked on my interview several times what kind of work pemrit/visa I have,  until when my EAD card is valid and when I think my green card will come out and I don't even have a solid answer as to when it will be adjudicated.

Competition is so high here in florida, you could be battling with 100 to 200 other candidates for one position (as per me stalking on linkedin), A hiring manager would probably think why fight for one uncertain candidate if there is another candidate in line with almost the same credentials.

I feel like florida is an ideal place if you are in the medical field.

You have got to be kidding me!

My card is being produced as if last Friday and I am hoping to use it to start to work next week. Oh, well......

P.S., did you move or something?

Hello!

I got my EAD in Jan, and I just signed a contract with a really good company. YAY! One more week of relax and back to real life :P

In my case, I used a quote I saw somewhere here in VJ, I told the recruiter I'm legally allowed to work in the US and I will not need sponsor now neither in the future.

Maybe was just luck or the company itself, but it worked for me!

That is not good... Call and ask if it has been mailed and ask for the tracking number!

If it has been lost in the mail or delivered to the wrong place etc.. not good.

I saw a girl post (November filer on Facebook) that USCIS put in the wrong address for her card(Something Something LANE instead of Something Something STREET) and she never received it after her status said it was delivered. She called them and they told her to apply AGAIN and start the process over! And PAY the fee again...! Thankfully she went to the other address and she was able to find the card there!
