Hello I am currently doing the adjustment of status for my wife. My co-sponsor is on SSDI, and I am worried together we won't be over the poverty line. it says that he makes 35,663 in total social security benefits, but his total income is only shown as 2,683. His taxes from 2014 though shows that his income was around 34,000. For some reason the taxes for the previous year did not add his social security to his income.

My question is if we should be worried about the income being shown as low, or if the social security benefits number is enough.

Social security income is not usually taxable and that is the reason it does not show in AGI

you may need an attoeney to fill out the special form for immigration to have 75% of his SS income accepted by NVC

ask adi-rafa as she had to do this and i don't know what form was used

Oh I see.... That isn't too good for me as we were planning on sending it this Friday and no later then next Friday.

I already know 75% of his income isn't enough to meet the poverty guidelines :(
