the only think I just want to clarify is about the AOS 1-864 that I need to download ... do I fill this in myself or does my husband have to do this ?

Your husband is the petitioner and all the information requested on the I-864 must be about him. Your husband will be the one that ultimately signs the I-864 form. HOWEVER, the NVC doesn't care who actually sits down and physically fill out the form. If your husband is busy, you can fill it out for him. Just make sure that he signs the form himself (and that he double checks that all the information on the I-864 form is accurate).

yes i understand it has to be about him :) well he is in America and I am in the UK so it will be better for him to fill it out and then send it over to me with the supporting documents, so I can them submit it along with the other things as a whole package .... I'm sorry for asking so much I feel like I have read it over and over and some things just confused me a little ... also lastly how do I get the police check done from the UK ? I just hope I am not waiting much longer for thr approaval it being 8 months... I know our patience will pay off ..

The process is very confusing; you shouldn't feel bad about asking questions, but do take the time to SEARCH the forums. It's very likely that people have asked the same question in the past. Also, do take the time to read through the guides.

You might want to post your question in the country-specific sub-forum. However, in general, for any questions about what type of document is suitable for a given country, you should check out the US State Department Reciprocity Tables (link here). Simply input your country (UK in this case) and the website will provide EXACT information about what the US State Department (i.e., the NVC) expects for each type of document for each country.

He has the information he will need to complete the paperwork, yes... so easiest for him to do it....

He can fill it out, sign it,  scan it along with all necessary supporting documents and email it to you. Then he needs to snail mail all the documents to you,  so you have the originals to take to the interview.

Thank you so much for your help x
