Hey, guys! I just wanted to give you quick heads up...I got approved today - wooohooo! It took almost 6 months and half, but I am finally there.

I am going to apply for citizenship @ the end of this summer...so, the whole waiting thing starts all over again lol BTW I will let you know when I actually get my new card in the mail.

The best of luck and super speedy approvals for everybody still waiting!

Naturalization:

June 6, 2009 - mailed N-400

June 8, 2009 - delivered to the Lockbox at 2:47 PM

June 11, 2009 - check cashed

June 15, 2009 - received NOA1 (June 10th - NOA1 date)

June 22, 2009 - received biometrics letter

July 10, 2009 - Biometrics

July 27, 2009 - Interview Letter received

September 16, 2009 - Interview @ 1:40 PM (Approved!)

September 26, 2009 - Oath Letter received

Did you received an e-mail or you just noticed your status changed... just curious because you said today and today is Saturday.. I hope you have your new card soon and Good luck with the naturalization process.

I got an email notification last night, around 11:44 pm. So when I was posting this it was a lil after midnight.

Took approx 6 months for me through Vermont too. Once I received that email, I had the actual card in my hands in 5-6 days

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

NATURALIZATION

28th july 2007 - N-400 mailed to VSC

(exactly on the 90th day mark...applications NOT returned although some scared me into thinking they could have!)

30th july 2007 - N-400 delivered to VSC

11th august 2007 - Delivery Confirmation receipt received

17th september 2007 - Money Order (FINALLY!) cashed

9th november 2007 - NOA! (notification period given 180 days)

21th november 2007 - Biometrics appointment letter

18th december 2007 - Biometrics appointment in Baltimore, MD completed

29th march 2008 - FINALLY received letter with interview date!

8th may 2008 H 8:40 AM - Interview in Baltimore-APPROVED!

8th may 2008 H 3:00 pm (yes same day, crazy!) Oath Ceremony in Baltimore

24th may 2008 - US Passport application mailed off

6th june 2008 - US Passport received in the mail!!!
