I married my wife on the 2nd visit .. I whatsapp/skype with her for 7 months + went back to to visit her once .. we only did Nikkah (muslim marriage contract) + honeymoon few months after

i am going back home this month to do more rituals ( Mehndi, Barat & Walimma)

will this be a problem at interview as consular might make a point that my marriage was not consummated at time of filing I130 since i didnt complete all the rituals ?

in my opinion, our marriage was consummated at Nikkah .. I honestly didn't even wanna do the rituals but my family is more traditional

for Pakistan, you should check following link to determine whats types  marriage documents do you need since it varies country to country

Im a little confused when people talk about dates..

When it's said 11 weeks for nvc, do they mean once nvc receive from USCIS? Or once you send in your package to NVC with documents ? Tia x

I am also from pakistan and have same situation like you and i dont think so it would be a problem unless you have red flags like huge age difference different cultures or second marriage etc otherwise why would embassy ask you did you do mehndi or not. for them nikah is marriage they need nikah nama not mehndi pics for proof of your marriage

11weeks from when NVC acknowledges receipt of your package with documents.

What is meant by two scan dates

It's when you have received a checklist list after the 1st scan date. When you receive a checklist and send missing/corrected documents to the NVC for a second time.

Once you send in your documents and NVC scans your document into the system than your 11 weeks start.

In most cases it takes around 7-11 weeks from your scan date.

Tell me about it. When I received the approval letter from USCIS after 6 months of waiting I thought I was done and the rest was just formalities. Here we are another 6months already. I don't even know what to tell my folks anymore as everyone did the Happy danse when I told them that everything was good after the approval from USCIS.
