Hello Everyone,

I am new to this thread. Just last week I received a letter from USCIS, TSC noting that my case is approved (NOA2) dated October 02, 2017 and they have sent my case to NVC. Besides this letter I haven't received any e-mails nor there have been updates to my case made online on USCIS website (still says case received).

How long should I wait till I hear something from NVC? Would NVC contact me or beneficiary for my case? At what point should I call them to request my case number?

Thank you :)

Hi

We were approved 21 Sept. My husband phoned NVC in a week or so after this and got our case numbers and Invoice ID's. You should receive an email too if you added it on your G-325 form.  It's been a week so your case numbers could be available. My uscis case also showed "sent to nvc".

I'd suggest you phone the NVC and find out.

Thanks

(Just suggestions)

Hello VJ Fam so my husband still lives at home with his father, he waiting for me to move back to the US before we buy a house. Would his father have to also submit an AOS and provide financial evidence; Even tho he's not going to be a joint sponsor ?

Does your husband file taxes independently or did his father list him as a dependent on his taxes?

If he files independently, has no other large financial ties to your father, and his income alone meets the requirements, then no, he should just submit his own affidavit of support and that will be fine.

If he filed taxes in any way with his father, than his father will have to file an I-864A as a household member of your husband.

However, I'm not sure if he would count his father in the number of total household members on his I-864.

Definitely call the NVC to confirm, as each case is different and they will know best how to answer your question. They are usually pretty good at helping clarify this kind of stuff. In my opinion, they are much better to talk to than the USCIS was.

Does anyone know what needs to be submitted for taxes information? Does it have to be Tax transcripts obtained from IRS website or actual copies of tax returns with w2?

Either of the two in my case my wife was unable to download the  tax transcripts , so we use the actual copy of the tax return with w2 and our case was approved

Hey guys,

I'm super frustrated. Way back in July and August we ran into the NVC payment system problem, and when we paid on 2nd August, it went through and unlocked the DS-260, after which i submitted that and mailed out my package. On 9th August, hubby called NVC to confirm that they received our documents. Shortly after, the payment receipt said rejected and the Pay Now option was still there. We called to make sure it was ok and they said it was fine. In September, we got an email saying we need to make payment or our case would not progress. We called again and were asked to provide proof of payment. We emailed our bank statement on the same day as the email (we called to check in between and were told we just need to wait), and our payment was FINALLY cleared on Oct 6th. I went to look at the case status site and it says "Action required: submit documents". Is this normal? Should I be worried? It's been 9 weeks since DS-260 was submitted (3 Aug) and 8 weeks since documents were received. I will call them when they open in the morning to check on my case. Should I ask to speak with a supervisor, and what are the chances that they will help me? I am just worried that my case was delayed for 2 months just because of the payment issue that was THEIR fault, really. :(

13-Mar-18 - POE

27-Apr-18 - Green card received

13-Jan-20 - Mailed out I-751 packet

15-Jan-20 - NOA date

12-Feb-20 - Biometrics appt completed; Status: Case was updated to show fingerprints were taken

07-Oct-20 - Case ready to be scheduled for interview

06-Jul-21 - Interview scheduled

OK just re-read the dwheels guide and saw that the "action required" status just means case is still processing. I will just call to confirm they have my documents and check if it's being reviewed yet I guess. Still debating whether asking for a supervisor will speed up anything at all. Thoughts?
