Please note that the only recognise Police report from Nigeria is Criminal Investigation Department Nigerian Police Force Alagbon Close Ikoyi, Lagos.

I have seen cases delayed because the report was gotten from another Police HQ, let not make that mistake here. Thanks.

Cheers.

I understand that  Alagbon station now processes police clearance certificate and fingerprinting via each state police head quarter in Nigeria. the completed forms and fingerprint card is sent to lagos for processing. so one dont need to travel to lagos from other states. the first pcc i submitted to nvc was processed that way and it wasnt rejected. so i guess @Abies is right.

No, Problem you can follow through that way too........... Or ask for contact and you will do it in Alagbon and get it same day.

If you now live in Nigeria, You can do a police report at Alagbon for #10k and take it for the interview. It expires after 3month

The police certificate says that it expires in 3 months, but for the purposes of the U.S. State Department, it is good for 12 months.

Says who? My PCC for my previous k1 was done in Benin city where I reside&it was accepted. All they need is your finger print and a passport copy. All state police hq have direct access to the main database in Alagbon&the only difference is that you will get the report same day at Alagbon unlike other states police hq which ranges from 3-5days.

If the PCC you submitted at the NVC stage was done 3months before your final visa interview, you better get another one for the interview else expect to be placed on AP&of course you will still be asked to submit a new one via DHL before your visa will be issued.

As long as the police certificate was issued within 12 months of your interview, you are okay. It does not matter that the Nigerian police certificate says that it is valid for 3 months.

Cheers.

Please give us an example of who experienced delays because they had their PCC outside Alagbon. 2 advantages with having your police clearance at Alagbon are:

1). You pick it same day.

2). It's cheaper(around 3-5k)depending on your bargaining power.
