My UK police clearance expires this month and my interview is November. I do not live in the UK anymore since March 2016. Do I still need to provide a new police clearance from that country for my interview?

What does the statement below mean:

The embassy may require additional documents at the interview.  For example, if the following three items are all true, the applicant must bring a new police certificate to the visa interview:

  • •    He or she is more than 16 years old;
  • •    The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than one year ago; and
  • •    He or she still lives in the country that issued the certificate.

Yes get a new one if u can to be on a safer side

Thanks a lot T&F. Your reply is very helpful. I thought so too, but needed a second opinion on what that grammar means. Sure I intend to request a new pc for Nigeria since I currently live here.. Cheers!

Ok, just remember to bring it with the fingerprint card it comes with b/c I think I saw here some Nigerians pc being rejected if they are not attached with the fingerprints card. Good Luck dear..Cheers!!

I asked and they said if the answer to ALL bullet point question is true, then I need a new one. But in this case the third questions is false. That means it doesn't apply to me anymore.if you notice the ALL is bolden.. I shall go with the present one which expires 21st this month. I don't leave in that country anymore so it doesn't make sense asking for a new which will be a repeat of the previous one I have.

Anyone else with an upcoming interview date completely freaking out??? Our lawyer informed us very last minute I needed to mail my husband some documents to take to the interview. I’ve never mailed him anything so I’m feeling very nervous. I sent the packet via DHL and it should be arriving late this week but with the interview the 19th I’m literally sick to my stomach with worry that something will happen and it won’t arrive in time. The lawyer said I had to mail him a new I-864 with original ink signatures but I swear I read on travel.state.gov you can take a copy but the signatures just can’t be electronic. They’re also having me send my original birth certificate and my original W2s. If something happens to the packet will copies of these 3 items be ok? Ahhhhhhhh! This is making me crazy.

I know we have different interview countries so take this with a huge grain of salt!

My consulate's checklist of documents to bring to the interview also included original AOS with wet signature, latest tax forms and petitioner birth certificate.

However, during my interview they never actually asked for the AOS and I could see they had with them the AOS forms I submitted to NVC. i wonder if they only ask for original AOS in case something happened to the one NVC sent to them?

They did take my wife's latest tax forms but didn't ask for original. I had my wife's original birth certificate with me but they never asked for it nor did they ask for a copy of it.

Again, your embassy could be different so obviously still try to have those docs, but just posting this to show that just because they ask for it in the checklist doesn't always mean they'll actually need it during the interview :P

if something does happen to your package I would def bring copies of everything just to be safe, but I'm sure your package will be ok :)

Thank you for the reply. I keep crying every 5 minutes from worrying so much lol. If something happens to the package and he doesn't receive it by the 16th I'm going to get a newly signed I-864, get a copy of my birth certificate and I have extras of m W2's thankfully and fly to El Salvador. I am leaving nothing to chance. I have no money left after this process so I'll probably have to sell a kidney to get there lol. (kidding obviously) Thanks again for the encouragement and I'll try my best to be patient and hope it gets there on  time. I paid $153 to mail it so I sure hope it arrives.
