mmm some chips....with some thai sweet chili...yummo.

Better than that is chips and Maggi Chilli Sauce, not the sweet Thai one they sell in supermarkets here, but the one from Malaysia which seems to be rare in the USA. Best Chilli Sauce in the world!

I have three bottles of it in my house! Maggi Taste of Asia. I buy it in mass quantities cause I am afraid I won't find it again! Although I can get it at our regular super market! I agree...I love it. Addicted to it.

Have you seen the new limited edition Pringles? Thai Sweet Chili flavour. Absolutely delicious!

I haven't seen those here!! Gonna have to look!

I am trying EVER so hard not to buy crisps....I am trying to be a good little monkey. (it's not really working)

So you have somewhere near you that sells this stuff:

as opposed to this:

I'm officially envious. I actually buy it when I'm in the UK and bring it back to the USA because I've not found anywhere selling it for about 5 years.

I have both.

2 bottles of the top and a bottle of the bottom. I buy them at Bi-Lo's...BUT yesterday when I went they had NONE. (which is why I always buy it when they do. Just to stock up)

but what I do buy in england and bring them over in Quanity is the rice pancake paper to male basil rolls or spring rolls!

I can find them here...just not any where close to me. They are flat easy to pack and so I just bring them along.

My friend said she saw HP Steak Sauce in the store the other day and we were just wondering if it is actually brown sauce just with a different name? The bottle looks about the same. Anyone know?

no real idea here but I am going to guess it is....or at least pretty close!

Not really sure but I can get HP brown sauce here in my local c-town supermarket.

its brown steak sauce. you can get it from Krogers or Albertsons

its no diffrent from A-1.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I walked into my local Wal-mart last night and found the shelf stocked with Malaysian Maggi Chilli sauce, the first time I've been able to buy it in the USA in about 5 years. Previously I had been buying them in the UK and bringing them over. Not only did Wal-mart have them, but they had 55 cents off coupons, meaning they cost 70cents each.

I bought all their bottles (6). ;)

Hooray!!

You've made me want to try and track some down now... the shop next door to my house used to sell it, and since reading this thread, it's now been tacked onto the end of my 'stuff I want to get just because I can't' list - which seems to be growing ever-longer.

As for HP sauce... there's a shop here that has some weird-looking bottles of HP (which I can only assume are the NJ-made steak sauce stuff) right next to the 'normal' kind. I had to buy a bottle of the 'real' one (made in Birmingham according to the label, if I remember right), just because it was there. Rarely ate it in the UK, but I think HP sauce is something we're programmed to start missing as soon as we get through the POE, judging by the amount of times it comes up in discussion! Had some on an omelette the other day, along with some ridiculously hot hot sauce we bought at the same time...

The HP company closed their doors in the UK btw... they've moved the company to Holland..they announced that when I was in the UK back in March :(

Oh..there's a video by the Twang called "Either Way" ...you can search for it on You Tube...but it shows the HP factory and their closed doors :(

I see the maggi stuff everywhere. I should see if Neil likes that. he loves chili sauce

My issue, as I've posted above, is that Maggi Chilli sauce is available everywhere, but its always the wrong one! They make 3 kinds, one I hate (chilli and garlic), one I don't mind (Thai - the most popular here) and one that is quite simply the best mild/medium chilli sauce in the world (the one that until recently I couldn't find anywhere from Malaysia).

Steak Sauce is just plain evil and nothing like brown sauce.

I had a Heinz tinned syrup sponge pudding last night with birds custard. My local Harris Teeter is stocking so much British food now, and my local Whole Foods are also jumping on the bandwagon. An Irish guy has opened a fish and chip shop near me now too and he stocks all British chocolate, crisps and cakey things. Just waiting for Warburtons to appear and I will be one happy lady.
