In theory, the Philippines should not issue you a new passport in your maiden name - if you have an older one since before you were married, that could be used until it expires - but they should ask you upon renewal whether your status changed, in which case you would present your marriage certificate and they would issue you a new passport with your married name. It would probably considered fraud to not report your change in married status.

i beg to dis agree. yes i do have a passport in my maiden before. when i go to chicago and told me that i need to change my maiden last name to my now married last name they wont accept my marriage certificate, and they want me to report my marriage and they need his sign and photo (ex husband), and if i dont report my maiden will be still my last name in PI Passport, if ut is fraud they will for sure tell me what to do. i also put in my post that i will be filing divorce next year, and i dont want to put my self in a no brainer situation. i dont want to get divorce here and need to annulled my married in the PI and that will cost my $3000 if i report my married now just to get my married name in my PI passport, then get a divorce next year and will get back my maiden name again. and i guess we have the right to used whatever name we wanted to used. thanks for the input though...
