Hey guys. So when I got my greencard I saw that the last letter of my first name was cut out because I guess it was too long? I have two first names and it's a total of 18 letters, 19 if space is included. My info at the back is also the same. Does anyone have the same problem as me? Will that be okay? Or do I have to have it changed?

I was was able to get my Ssn using the greencard and they just cut out my 2nd first name because it was too long for their system as well. I was also able to open up a bank out and get my dependent military ID I just said my name was too long to fit and they saw and understood. I'm just scared of flying because they might deny me entry cause it might be wrong. 😨😭

Thank you!

I would call USCIS and ask what they have for your name in their computer. If its all 19 characters and the card is only showing 18 then your card was printed wrong. You can get a new card for free, and yes you should correct it before traveling if at all possible.

Theres also a chance they may have you showing at 19 on there side but they are just unable to print that many characters. In that case your card is fine. Its the best they could do.

But you need to figure out which scenario it is. So call them and ask.

Its also very odd that Social Security edited your name like that.
