questions about visa for foster children

I have a strange situation and am looking for what options I may have.  Two cousins of my wife are currently in an orphanage.  The oldest was raped by her father which is how she ended up in the orphanage.  Her younger sister lived with my wife for 2 years until my wife came here on a K1.  The younger girl is about to turn 18 and the girls are being told they will need to leave the orphanage.  The older girl is currently 20.  The orphanage has said they will look for a foster parent for them.  Is there any type of visa that they may be eligible for that would allow them to come here and live with us?

Thank you,

Dan

What a sad situation that those two lovely children have been subjected to by family. I never can understand some of the mean things relatives and blood can do to one another.

Your choices are very limited. The problem is the girl that is 20 will soon age out for a visa. She would have to be in the USA before she turned 21. The 18 yo you might be able to do something but it would be adoption. But here is the stickler. She needs to have lived with you for two years while in the PI and adopted, before she is eligible for the visa interview.

I want you to PM Hank_ - just as I spelled is his address here on VJ and ask him the same question. He is very well versed in topics like yours. I'm sure he will be better at answering your question with more details than I. Hank can also be found in the Philippine sub-forum.

Good Luck.

Adoption is not an option for either girl, for a variety of reasons.    There is not any possibility for visas as they are too distant of relation through your wife or you.
