Hi

All,

I have filed my I751 case in 2017.

Now i am relocating to another state, will there be any issue if i will change my address while I-751 Pending.

(I have a plan to submit online AR-11 form and also by calling uscis to change my address for my pending I-751 application),

Do my spouse also need to submit I-865 form (Change of address) as well. (Because she is also relocating with me and she was the one who sponsored me for I-130, but now she is not working).

Your comments will be really appreciated.

Address changes happen all the time so it won't have a negative effect on the ultimate outcome but it might delay the process.

As for who needs to make the change, we did ours online during the naturalization process.  It was connected to the case number, so only one address change was required.

Best wishes!

As for change of your address....

We moved.during my AOS.  I submitted AR-11, online,  my husband, as USC - I-865 via regular mail.

Despite the fact we both received confirmations and even USCIS web site was updated "our new address has been received"" 3 months later  my EAD arrived at our  PREVIOUS address, along with a Notice of Potential Interview Waiver, two weeks after that.. Both documents finally found me just because we notified our local Post Office about change of our address..

Later - more :) My son's AOS was filed separately - he didn't arrive at the same time with me. But it was filed from our new address. Almost 9 months later we BOTH received RFE - his envelope had new, current address, mine - still had old one!! It was crossed out, actually, and a new current address was handwritten , but still - originally it was going to be mailed with old address on it. I think, my son's AOS finally made them recognize our new current address...

So, I would recommend  - 1. fill out AR-11, on line, and you should have on-line confirmation. Also, I received a confirmation via regular mail 2-3 weeks later.

                                             2. Form I-865, for USC. Only via regular mail. My husband got his confirmation also 2-3 weeks later.

                                            https://www.uscis.gov/i-865

                                           3. Notify your local Post Office, about change of your address. I believe there is a form you have to fill out with your Post Office, and it's valid for 6 months, then you can update this again, so if something with your names arrives at your old address, the Post Office will direct it to you to your new address - this is, actually,  how my EAD and other paperwork from USCIS found me.

                                           4. Try to keep in touch with people at your previous address... Just in case. Let them know you may be still receiving some mails and that they should just let you know..

Good luck!!!

I've also changed my address while I-751 is pending... and I'm definitely nervous about it. There have been several people who've said that despite their attempts to change their address in the approved manner with USCIS, sometimes the address is not updated in the USCIS system. The best you can do is file the appropriate papers, then call or make an infopass to doublecheck that they have the correct address on file, and THEN continue to doublecheck once USCIS starts to approve filers near your dates, to make sure you haven't missed a notification.

The call-center employees should be able to tell you if a notification was mailed to you, so if you haven't received one, you can correct your address (again) and request that it be re-sent to your new address.

Of course we shouldn't have to do all this in 2017, but I always have visions of USCIS still using computers like Doogie Howser's, running Windows 3.

Is your timeline updated?

Oath Ceremony Dec 14th, 2018 I am finally a citizen and done with USCIS for good!

One more thing i would like to ask regarding address change (While I-751 Pending).

As we have two case numbers on bio metric appointment letter. (One is working one and the other don't show status).
