Those items (visa & passport) are not in the sealed envelope -

From the Consolata/embassy, Karin got a large envelope which she opened - inside was her passport/visa and another envelope marked "SEALED present to POE blah blah blah" (it doesn't say "Do Not Open" directly) but it was inside the larger envelope

Inside the brown envelope contains her passport and another brown envelope. The another brown envelope inside was the one they are referring not to open and submit it to the POE here in the USA. Goodluck

she claims its a clear plastic envelope and she can see her passport in there

should she wait to go to cfo and let them open it?

She can get her passport and leave the rest, she don't need to bring the brown envelope at the seminar she might misplace it.
