Can someone help me to know what documents exactly I need to include when I file a petition I-130 for my mom who lives outside USA? She is widow.

And how long approximately it takes until I get the NOA#2 ?

This is the link to the things you need to know.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/after-petition-approved.html

Bear in mind though that we were also asked for our daughter's marriage certificate which isn't listed, so pay particular attention when they ask you for the civil documents.  We had a list to click and upload one at a time as we were through CEAC.

This is where to find the list of docs you would need.  It took us almost 12 weeks from NVC arrival to NOA2

as to process time for DS261 - I am sorry we didn’t appoint an agent so I don’t know.

My lawyer submitted everything the same day. Did u try calling them to find out ?

No, I haven't called yet. We are not in a big rush, so we thought we will wait for the usual time it takes them which on the confirmation says 2 weeks. I'll call next week if I haven't heard anything.

Hi...My son petitioned for me on December 5th 2017.  Copies of his birth certificate, my birth certificate and biographic page of passport were sent with the petition.

We got approved on June 26th and sent to National Visa Center on July 2nd. I am outside of the US and just now awaiting the visa process to schedule interview at the US Embassy.  My approval came closer to 7 months. It depends on what service center your petition is sent to. Also, I had no request for additional info...that can delay the process.

All the best to you.

Thank you for your response, I wish you the best in your visa process and interview.

Do you need to submit any application to NVC after they receive your approved case from USCIS? I'm totally confused about the forms involved in this journey.

Thank you! I am awaiting  NVC to acknowledge receipt of my case...from what I read on here(following a bunch of threads) they will send an email with a welcome letter and it tells the next step and what is required.

For you now, the thing to do is submit the I130 as soon as you can...that seems to take the longest time...getting the approval but once it is approved things go quickly...maybe a year for the entire process...

Thank you Lynni,

I will submit my I-130, but how do I know which service center they will send my petition to? is it based on their choice or based on where I Live?

I don't know how it is routed...my son lives in Georgia, USA and our case was sent to Potomac.

Call the NVC to assign an agent to pay the AOS and IV fees. They said it's fast if you have an agent. And that's what I did. You should get the step by step process and a checklist also on your email. Goodluck
