FILE TRANSFERS

Hi I recently filed for my spouse and im very concerned because my filing center's (Nebraska) processing time is longer than any other filing center, what do I have to do to get my file transferred to another filing center, also now that im expecting I will need my spouse when I give birth so what do I do in this case?

You can't request a transfer from one service center to another.  However, if USCIS thinks they need to balance the work, THEY will tranfer some case themselves.  Our case was initially at Nebraska last year, but after a few months, USCIS transferred it to Texas....

Sorry, but your expected delivery is not a valid USCIS reason to expedite.

As above, you can't request a transfer of service centers. Well, you can ask them almost anything, but they very likely won't comply with the request.

Pregnancy is not considered a reason to expedite.

I am in the same boat as you in that I've been stuck at NSC for 8 months. It is totally frustrating that the average processing time at Potomac is 5 months and the average processing time in Nebraska is 10 months. Vermont and Texas are 2-3 months ahead.

 

A few of us have emailed USCIS to ask for Nebraska's processing times to pick up or to transfer cases. This is the contact information:

Unfortunately like the other posters stated you can't have it transferred. It appears if some service centers have a larger caseload than others then they will transfer them. That's what happened during our K1- Transferred from Texas to California- Texas was much more behind.
