It's very stressful! I have another question for you late night folks... passport photos... does he really need 4 for medical and 4 for interview? He's already submitted 2 for the police record. I think someone is making a collage of his photos!

It's kind of funny, but Tuyen, in her excitement, made 20 passport photos for her and her daughter,  Then she goes for her medical, and they take their own pictures LOL.  Oh well, I guess we'll be set for a while...

Ok. So BIG question. Why do you guys think I have two case numbers? So i got my 'ready' status on ceac. But at the bottom i have 2 case #s. Both has the same MNL. Like MNLXXXXXXXXXX 01, and the other one is MNLXXXXXXXXXX 02. What could this mean? I've read the same issue years ago here in vj but there was no answer. HELP

I've got this too! We're calling NVC today to find out why

I guess, on this step the process is going about visa issue...as you go with your child, you both should get the visa, and you, and your kid, because two passports, isn't ?   ...so, there are two links

I don't know the specifics of your situation, but for ours I filled a ds-160 for the child and my fiance. I will also pay two visa fee's and medical for the child. We also have a notarized letter from the child's father giving his permission to take her to America. Aside from that ... I am not sure what else is required other than the child has to be at the interview with all other required documents. I hope that helps.

as I read, the presence at the interview of minors under the age of 14 years is not mandatory.

just to provide all documents of child.

Hi @Salty2305. Good to hear from you! Thanks for answering my question. I'm quite confused right now. Maybe they thought it was a k2 case because I included his child in the i-129f. I already called the nvc and they said they can't help me with that issue because they only track the case and it was already sent in my fiances consulate. Thanks so much for the advise.

@_Mia_ what are your thoughts about this?

Hi Sally,

The more I think about it i assume this is for a K2. Unfortunately my son is not joining me at this moment in time as his dad is refusing to allow me to take him and having a number assigned for him is extremely upsetting (if in fact this is what it is).. We are going to try to call the NVC to see if my sons name is associated with the 02 number, I have also contacted the US embassy here via their online form and asked them what we need to do with this. We did tick on the the DS160 that my son will be joining us at a later point as we are staying hopeful, however this won't be on a K2 and will be an entirely different process all together. I've asked them if I need to do a new DS 160.. Just waiting for them to get back to me but I will let you know as soon as I have any news.

My fiance (beneficiary) has a child but not in his custody for three years. He hasn't been in contact with the birthmother for years. We still included the child in the form i-129f because it was required to jot down the children. We do not intend to do k2 because we don't have access to his child. So i don't know why they gave me 2 case #s.

Hey @_Mia_. Glad to hear from you. It's been eating me up because I just got my "ready" status this morning. It's just confusing but maybe they really give a different case number for the main and the derivatives. Whether or not they will take the child with them or not. It's just my theory but I'm still not sure. I called the nvc after I saw the status. And they told me that they're not much of a help regarding the matter because the embassy was the one who assigned the 01's and the 02's. It's best to call the embassy. But according to a friend who works at an agency regarding matters such as this, she says that it doesn't matter because we can just correct them (if they made a mistake) or just explain to them you won't be bringing your children to the u.s.a. It's still the same case #, just with derivatives. Gosh I hope I'm right, cuz this is very confusing lol please update me whenever you can thank you.

Haha I saw your post as soon as I woke up, I guess you're up a lot earlier than me in the Philippines :)  Yes, that's my theory too. I guess they'll give you an additional case number when they see you have a child on the off chance that you are applying for a K2 as well and that you do not need to use it. I've asked them about my DS160 as I was thinking I shouldnt have ticked that my son is joining me later... silly me for listening to my fiance on this one, but at the end of the day I am not extremely worried about this as I'm sure it is easily explainable to them, but it is stressful for sure.

Hey there I've been following your timeline and I see you have your interview in 2 weeks which is awesome and fast as heck which is gives me so much hope once we get our NOA2. Congrats to you both!!!

Yes, you need that amount of passport photos. I know it's crazy but it's definitely the requirement for our embassy.

Question for you, did you just go online and do packet 3 and 4 or did JA Embassy send him or you any information prior and then you you did it? Just curious because I believe our embassy doesn't send packet 3 and 4 anymore, we can just do everything once we see the CEAC site status change to READY. Is that correct? What dates did you do Packet 3 and 4 because I don't see them on your timeline? Also what day is his medical exam? Do we really have interview dates available that close? Are you going to the interview with him?

I am sorry for so many questions but you are literally my blueprint for this since my fiance will be going after you two hopefully soon. Girl, I'm so happy for you guys it feels like it's me and fiance are the ones in your shoes. :D
