First of all, congratulations!!!  It's an amazing feeling.  Not sure how it works in your location, but we had to pay the visa fee before we could get an appointment.  We needed an appointment confirmation to get the medical.  Lovely, crazy Vietnam...

We actually had to do the same. I tell ya... it's a confusing process... the website lists the steps so we went ahead and created an account, made an appointment, paid the fee, etc. We received our appointment confirmation and then there were no links, phone numbers, etc. to make the medical appointment. So we'll call tomorrow and hopefully we can get in pretty quick. So it looks like Jamaica is lovely and crazy like Vietnam!

U.S. embassy in Moscow is the same rules , we pay consular fee, then we put the number of payment into the form  on the embassy's website, get the Confirmation page ...next we schedule the interview, then we make medical appointment by the phone... at IOM we provide the confirmation of interview appointment. .. It may sound pedantic, but this algorithm works like a Swiss watch

Dumb question... are there any more fees he has to pay at the interview or is that the full amount (the amount we paid when we scheduled the appointment)?

There shouldn't be any more fees until you start with the AOS, EAP, AP etc.

for beneficiary :

look for IOM  in Jamaica...go to their website, you will see full information and get medical appointment asap.do not forget, at the medical they must provide you ds3025 form Vaccination Documentation Worksheet. you will provide this form at the POE, when border contcol will take photo and fingerprints of you.

the fee contains all,  delivery of a passport too. when you will sent the numder of payment, you will fill there an address of beneficiary, where the passport with visa  should be sent

Yup, we did that! Sounds like we just need to pay medical then. And that weird letter that we need to provide that states he is not married. It's a Jamaica thing, but it's $150usd to get it expedited. Otherwise it takes 6 weeks! Sure wish we knew about it before Monday! Oh well :)

It's very stressful! I have another question for you late night folks... passport photos... does he really need 4 for medical and 4 for interview? He's already submitted 2 for the police record. I think someone is making a collage of his photos!
