Hey Guys!  I have a question regarding the DS160 and need advice.

We encountered some problems filling out the ds160 form. It kept timing out on us and couldn't get past the photo and security question. We did some research and read somewhere that Firefox was needed. After downloading the new browser we were able to continue on, but now that we are reviewing it, we noticed the Educational Background section disappeared. We decided to just create a new application since she hasn't signed and submitted it yet, but same thing keeps happening - education background disappeared again.

I really don't know what to do? Should we just sign and submit and just explain to the CO?

TIA

I would.  Do it to the best of your ability and go with it.  Many people have this issue.

You have to fill from the beginning and save the form at every point while you will fill it.

Yes, that's what we've been doing from the beginning. We have tried everything, but that section just completely disappeared.

We tried restarting and used Chrome, Fire Fox, and IE. I'll try to do a new application, and if the same issue persists we will just go ahead and submit it and explain to the CO. Thanks guys!

Is she employed or self employed?  The education section for us also disappeared, and I assumed it was because of her self-employment.  We had no issues.

Edit:  Google tells me that DS-160 sections regarding education appear and disappear depending on how the previous questions regarding employment are answered.

Finally done.

Hi wonderful people!

Does anybody know how long it takes before my consulate receives my case? I'm the USC petitioner and I am currently in the Philippines with my fiance. We got out case number on the 5th of October. I know it's still early, but I'm just a little overwhelmed and I really don't wanna wait longer than 6 months. gahhh

She handed her resignation letter last week. We put: Not Employed.

We tried for the third time creating a new application for the DS160. We answered everything like the previous ones, but this time we didn't add her secondary education and it now shows the educational background. I don't know if that was the case, but it worked!

Try tracking it using your case number:  https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

USEM received our case one week after we got our case number from NVC, but until now the embassy hasn't sent anything to my F.

We're on the same boat. We received our case # last Oct 2nd but Ceac tracker still says At NVC. Hoping that they will forward it to the consulate very soon and will show "Ready" this week. Already done with DS-160.:D

Hi, so I just got back from my weekend in the US and had zero problems through immigration btw. I even think this was the quickest I've ever gone through immigration. Just two questions and I was through! I have a question though and I'm kinda freaking out a bit. While I was over there we thought we'd be efficient and get stuff done and we actually filed the DS 160 :( I'm realiszing now that we shouldnt have done that until we have the NVC number and it shows ready at the embassy right?? What do we do now? Do we need to file a new one? I'm so confused...
