I made a copy of both, the sworn translation (since I only have one signed by the translator) and the certified copy of the marriage certificate that they gave us on the register office.

Hey Everyone! @Estibaliz or anyone who may know lol, so ... does that filing fee cover the child too  I haven't even started looking at the AOS stuff until this morning. :jest: I have been enjoying the time away from the paper trail, but with wedding coming this weekend, it's time to get after it again. Congrats to all who have arrived and good luck to those who are along the way!

@Tatiana&D.S. I'm still waiting for my biometrics letter, that I think it might arrive this coming week, so far from getting the AP yet. I've heard some people got it in around 2 months, but the average is supposed to be 3-4 months (I'm thinking maybe April).

And no, you don't have to let any Immigration authority know about your wedding before filling for AOS... Just go to the SS if you are changing your name, and some of us needed to let know the husband's work for medical benefits and all that jazz :)

@vcpdragon I'm utterly ignorant when it comes to the children scenario, but I'm pretty sure you have to pay a separate fee for every K3 adjusting status (I think it varies depending on the age, so check the USCIS website).

Hope you have a wonderful wedding!

Typically, how long is the wait for an interview? If I got approved tomorrow and called for an interview, what time frame am I expecting? 2 weeks? A month?

If what was approved tomorrow?

After NOA2 your case will be sent to the NVC.  When you receive your case number from them (you can call to receive it), you can begin tracking your case with the CEAC tracker.  When that tracker says "Ready for interview", it means the embassy has received your case from the NVC and you can go through the steps necessary to schedule and interview.  This is different for each country and the wait time for an interview is definitely embassy specific.

Our Journey:
04/19/2014- Met online
10/2014- Visited Nigeria and he proposed!!!!
02/28/2015- Sent I-129F petition
03/05/2015- NOA1
09/2015- Visited Nigeria again!!!
10/28/2015- NOA2 (237 day wait at TSC)
11/13/2015- Sent to NVC
11/27/2015- Arrived at Embassy
06/2016- Third visit to Nigeria!
06/15/2016- Interview, given option to file I-601 waiver.
08/16/2016- Waiver submitted (no lawyer).
11/21/2016- Waiver approved with expedite.
01/2017- Embassy requested interview.
04/2017- Fourth visit to Nigeria.  K1 officially denied.
04/25/2017- NOA1 for 2nd K1.
07/27/2017- Case transferred to TSC.
11/17/2017- Case transferred back to CSC.
01/16/2018- NOA2!! (266 day wait)
03/08/2018- Interview (AP)
05/03/2018- VISA APPROVAL!!!
05/14/2018- Visa issued
05/18/2018- Visa picked up

Sorry, I mean if I got my case number tomorrow, I'm a bit flustered right now, having a moment of worry and stress, I guess.

It's okay, take some deep breaths.

I found this site through a google search, I'm assuming it's correct for the UK because I followed the .gov site.  Have you created a profile for here yet?

https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv/information/iv_services

I created a profile for my fiance and already went and completed the DS-160.  For Nigeria's Visa scheduling appointment website, it shows you when the next available appointment is.

Maybe this site will tell you as well?

Hey all, thought I would check in and ask a couple of questions.

Ive been here now for 2 months and I've been enjoying my time with my fiancé. We had a crazy Christmas, lots of travelling, visiting family and friends in Virginia. We spent a week in the original settlement JamesTown in Williamsburg, VA. Such an eye-opener of how the British and other Europeans first came to the US (we don't learn about this in school in the UK so I really knew very little).

We spent New Year just the two of us back at our home in NC. Our 4th New year together and our 3rd actually together in person.

Since then we've had lots of fun shopping, hanging out, visiting parks, lakes and looking for houses! The weather has been crazy for me. One day it's -8C and snowing, the next it's 21C and sunny. It hardly ever rains here (not that I'm complaining).

So far I have my SSN and I have set up a bank account. Driving here is proving to be difficult. I can only use my UK license for 60 days. I can only get a US license until my visa runs out (an extra 30 days) which seems useless. Then I will be in the famous 'no mans land'. ☹️

So I guess my questions are:

How quickly should I expect to get my AP and work authorisation so that I can get a new license?

What type of things would you all suggest to keep myself occupied whilst not working now the holidays are over?

Hope everyone is doing great and enjoying their time in the US so far. Congrats to those who are already onto AOS, and good luck to those who are still persisting with NVC/USCIS
