I was just wondering if you had been in contact with your congressional representative? Our case was stuck between USCIS (NOA2-10/30) and NVC for 6 weeks. Our congressional representative reached out, and it was explained that our case had essentially been put in the wrong pile.  As a result of the call, USCIS corrected their mistake, explained that we should expect it to take an additional 6-8 weeks due to backups, and that it would reach NVC by Dec 31st. Luckily, that wasn't the case, and it got sent out almost immediately, and was moved on to the embassy within the next week. I believe the speed at which it started moving was a direct result of our reps call. If you haven't yet reached out to your congressional rep, or if anyone else reading this is stuck at some stage and hasn't called their rep yet, I strongly suggest doing so. It really seems to help! I'm sure at this point, you've done everything in your powers to help move it along. I just wanted to offer our case as an example, as every little bit of information can be useful in this process.  Good luck and I hope it moves soon!

big help! We will do this. Ours got approved last 11/3 and still no case number...

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all on here. My hope is that all that are waiting get thru the wait as soon as possible and are reunited with their love.

Has anyone started there AOS yet?

Happy New Year to you and Monica as well!  Tamar and I sent our AOS paperwork in a couple weeks ago.  Waiting on our Biometrics appointment.  It's kind of funny because I/our lawyer did pretty much all of the K1 paperwork and Tamar just signed things when he needed to and of course got all of his personal stuff together, interview, etc.  But since we did the AOS together (no lawyer..) he couldn't believe how much work and paperwork went into it!  Not to mention that since you to Green Card and AP at the same time, you are sending three copies of everything.  Have you started getting the paperwork together?

For the most part.  I found a sample cover page online somewhere and made sure we had all of the same items that were listed on the cover page.  Really it's a lot of the same thing over and over again.  I think we've all learned through the K1 process how inefficient the process is so needless to say that doesn't change much when you move to the next phase :)  It's just way more expensive this time around!  But at least we are with our loved ones during "round two"

Heading to our Lawyer tomorrow to start the paperwork. In talking to him it sounds like the AOS has changed slightly. They used to waive the interview for K1 applications for Green Card and may not be doing so anymore. We will take the pile of stuff to him and let him do it all. Easier that way and a lot safer to have him double check everything since he has been at this for 20+ years. Total charge for what I have to pay the US Government and him is only $2200 so I am just going to do it. Peace of mind is worth it for me.

We did start filling it out, but are waiting on her SSN to finish.  Also have a few questions on some of the items on the I-485.  I have not seen anything that addresses the questions that we have.  Most of it was just tedious, lots of questions.  We won't be using a lawyer for this either, filling it all out on our own.  She does understand the work involved.  We filled out the I-129F together, so she knows.  The mistakes that happened were all on me.  Looking forward to getting it sent in this month.  Is there a forum for AOS

We have the funds available to do the paperwork through the lawyer and it makes both of us feel better to have the lawyer who knows this stuff work on it. I have several friends who are lawyers and recommended him to me as the best guy in the area for this sort of thing. She has had issues with her USCIS paperwork before a couple of times so having the lawyer work on it just makes her much more at ease. Keeping her happy and low stress is definitely worth the $1000.

I found a forum for December filers but it's not very active.  I also found one for K1 and AOS.  I had a few questions as well and people were helpful.  Let me know if you have any questions as you do it.  I'm nowhere near an expert, but maybe you have some of the same questions we did :)

I completely understand. If you have the funds and it gives her comfort, absolutely.

Is any of the divorced asked for previous marriage certificate? It is listed in packet 4. https://in.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/71/MumbaiIVPacket-4-for-Ks-January-2017-Rev.pdf

When you get to the Embassy stage, it is Embassy specific.  My suggestion would be to go to the India portal and talk to some of the people that have already gone thru it there.  The Philippines did not ask for anything other than the divorce decree and that was with USCIS.
