I went to Social Security Administration place today... 10 days after arrival, ( 7 business days)
Turned out I still was not in SAVE database ( it's something called Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements) but went ahead with it...
They only wanted the passport and a copy of I-94 ( print it from here https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home )
Some other people needed their birth certificate but my officer was not interested in it...
and you need to fill out a form from here https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ss-5.pdf

good luck!

Thanks. April 10 for NOA1. They have 60 days to start adjudication after receiving RFE response. If you don’t hear anything by 16 December then file an inquiry as they will be outside normal processing timeframe.

Well got her from the airport today. POE in Detroit is evidently really easy now. She didn't go through any secondary checks and was out in around 30 minutes. There were no flight ahead of her but she was a on a full 747-400 from South Korea so it did take a little bit. They just opened her packet right there at the booth, checked it and removed the form they needed and sent her on her way. Happy to have her back, glad I brought her car instead of my little BRZ, her bags were not small or light.

Hey everyone

Hope everyone is doing good, for everyone that wished me good luck on my poe! It all went very smoothly we travelled with our dog. I arrived in JFK at 2225, everyone was very friendly. The man at the first desk didn't ask me any questions just called for me to go over to the k1 visa stand and told me to have a great new life here. I then went to secondary where they were processing the visas, they said I was probably the last k1 for the night. He didn't ask me any questions and within 5 minutes I was free to go! :)

Its been a busy week with lots of driving hence why I've only just updated this..  heres some pics of our family in the US.

Just wondering what should I do now in prep for visa so as soon as we get married and get our marriage certificate (Get married December 15) we can send it off ASAP.

Thanks :)

Hiya, fellow Aprilites! It's been a while since I've been on VJ and was just trying to check in and read some more of the happy reunions. It's been crazy busy for me, Shehide, and our daughter Edona. We got married on November 1st two days after she arrived in Orlando. We've been working on our house in Oviedo (Orlando area) on the weekends and apartment searching through the week here in Jacksonville. My little one bedroom apartment in Jacksonville is way too small for the 3 of us so we have to upgrade. So this weekend doesn't look any different than the previous... moving at a breakneck pace with the move and all.

Shehide is acclimating well and loves it here. Edona is having a bit more problems because she's a 10 year old who has just left all of her friends and family behind (and she lived with a BIG family) She'll have a better chance of making friends once we settle into the new apartment and hopefully can adapt a little better then.

It's so nice to so many of my friends here being reunited with their sweethearts. I hope you are all experiencing the same happiness my journey has brought me.

I'm getting ready to file for AOS and EAD once Shehide's SSN comes in this next week. I was kind of blindsided when I tried to get a SSN for Edona and the SS office told me she wasn't eligible as a K2 applicant until she has her green card or has filed for EAD. Seems a bit odd filing an EAD for a 10 year old but if that's what it takes, oh well.

To the few that are still waiting, my heart and prayers go out to you. This process is difficult enough to endure without a prolonged wait.

Great to hear about your progress and hope Edona adapts to her new life here soon. It's never easy for a kid...

Just wondering how you can know Shehide's SSN is going to arrive next week. I mean, I've been waiting for mine almost 6 weeks already! :D

Really pissed off about that, I'm calling later today again to see what we can do about it, since when I called almost 3 weeks ago they told me everything was fine and it should be here in 5-10 days.

Your bureaucracy is making me miss Spain even more! :P
