Hello everyone :) So matt is only just doing is affidavit of support form (agh) and he's made an error... he's basically put down for employment where he will be going to work come November 21st (His old boss said he could have his job back) but obviously he's unemployed/ student now. Would it be okay if he just crossed it out or will it be okay as hell be starting it in a couple of weeks?

Thanks

Hey, I'm pretty sure that this should be current information. So he should put his current salary and employer. Since you are having a joint sponsor (if I remember correctly) it shouldn't matter if he is unemployed now just make sure the joint sponsor meets the income threshold.

Also, I thought (not 100% sure though) that the affidavit of support needed to have an original wet signature from him. When is he planning on mailing you the documents? Just it took mine over 2 weeks with USPS to reach the uk so you may have to use another company to get them in time.

Aww that's great that he's there with you! Is he going to the interview too?

If you look on my timeline I wrote a full review including all the questions. They were all very very basic questions about collin and his family and his job.

my advice to you is smile, be confident and just tell them the truth! You will be fine. Good luck, I can't wait to here the news that you were approved tomorrow ^_^

No I didn't know if he was allowed to come until recently when I saw that you just have to book them in, he's coming to London with me so he'll just wait in a coffee shop around the corner for me.

I just read your summary it seems so easy yet I don't know why I'm so anxious lol The only thing I'm worried about is that Matt isn't currently working but we do have the additional affidavit of support so hopefully that'll be okay lol

Thanks anyways hun :)

Thanks, Sally! 😊

Yes, I definitely think that would be a good idea! At least he won’t be as nervous with you there by his side and better proof of a bonafide rel to the consuls.  ☺️

Oh, and.. If you go with him you guys can leave your gadgets with the guard inside the embassy. I thought it wasn't allowed since I kept reading “No gadgets or electronic devices” but if the USC attends they have a little locker there just bring an extra ID other than your passport to leave with them.

Good luck and keep us posted!

We have our visa in hand!!!  She will fly here on 11/14/17.  Our POE will be San Francisco.  We are so happy and want to thank everyone for their guidance and support.   We chose SFO as it was a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than Seattle, and also there a Vietnam consulate there if any issues pop up.

Congratulations!!!!  So very happy for both of you!!!!!  :D

You will be fine as long as your co-sponsor meets the requirements. My fiancee isn't working either and is in school as well, but it went very well. If you are nervous about the questions you can always look on youtube at the commonly asked questions and think about how you would answer them, and you will notice that you have answers for them all (also good practice for interview).

Good luck tomorrow. :)

I'm not sure about London, but we found it essential that I attend the interview with my fiancee.  First, it shows our commitment to each other and a bona fide relationship.   Just be yourself and answer truthfully!  Believe me, they already know all the answers to the questions they ask.

Does anyone have any tips for the interview? I'm starting to feel very nervous lol

Just relax!  The CO's understand that you will be nervous.  They're human.  Just answer truthfully, and if you don't know something, just say it.   We have a lifetime to learn about our future spouses.

So me and my fiance were sent an RFE on the 3rd of Oct. We have replied and sent back (we checked and it was signed for on the 23rd). Does anyone know what the rough timeline is for a reply after an RFE?

Hi all. A few people have been asking after me. Today marks 199 days since NOA1, with no NOA2. It's been over 6 months since the case was filed (April 11th), so we called USCIS. A Tier 2 called us back after 5 days, and told us that there's nothing they can do until their case tracker (currently April 1st) shows they're done processing April.

On ‎10‎/‎28‎/‎2017 at 2:50 PM, Chris2870 said:

Congrats you guys...You did it! Before Thanksgiving as well...so happy for you.

9 hours ago, BeatrixV said:

We received the same answer from USCIS and was asked to call back in 10 days cause that's when they will update their trackers....

OK Guys, I kindly thank you for your help. I went some pages back, and this is what I came up with. There 2 of you in "received" status, and 3 more in RFE stage, every other case is either at NVC or further along. This helps us a lot to figure out the movement, as we are behind like never before. There are 101 total cases left in "Igor's list" for April, and you guys are 5 of those. There are 96 more VJ members that are unaccounted for.

If there is someone else I didn't quote above, please let us know. It is greatly appreciated ! Thank you in advance.

I'll have to write a review for Newark POE here in VJ because the officers there made my fiance feel like a VIP the whole experience from start to finish.  They directed her to the first line and welcomed her to the USA, kidded around with her, asked when she was getting married then retorted with a big cheesy smile 'How will I know if you actually get married?'  Congratulated her for arriving safely, asked her where she was going to live in the US and said 'Oh!  You are going to love it there!'.  Escorted her to the secondary room, took her envelope to the desk for her and offered her a seat in the waiting area.  In 2 to 3 minutes she heard 'chunk, chunk' stamps and her name called and they handed her passport and again congratulated her and pointed the way out to the terminal for the connecting flight.  Lickity split and all the smiles and congratulations and friendly treatment on top.  I am so thankful for the courtesy of the CBP officers and staff for taking such good care of my Fiancee :D  To make it all the better........ They didn't scribble ANYTHING or stamp on the K1 visa!  It is still in new condition.  They stamped on the next page and initialed.  We worked and sacrificed like nothing else in our lives to get this to come to pass.  All the blood, sweat, tears, hours of working in the tropical heat doing construction jobs on days I wasn't working at the hospital, all of this over many many months, came down to a little sticker in a passport that means the world to the 2 of us.

Today we went to church together, this time on THIS side of the world.  Yeah, this is what it all was for, and so worth it......   Welcome to Miami, ANN!

Congrats to you both!  Hopefully you will make it out west and drive by ZzyZx Rd on I-15.  :)
