Possibly a silly question about POE - once you get to the airport, you just proceed as you normally would to customs/immigration, correct? I'm leaving from Canada so when I travel to the U.S. I do immigration in Canada before the flight - I assume it's the same for entering with K1 Visa? No special area you have to go to?

I went through Toronto in September.  They sent me to the left (instead of the machines) to fill out an immigration card by hand.  Then I just proceeded as normal to the border guard (I don't think I was in a special line but I did tell them when I got to the line I had a visa).  The border guard talked to me while he looked at my stuff (the envelope), he walked me to a little waiting area and then 5 minutes later I was on my way.  It was super easy and I had a midday flight/ connection and it wasn't busy.

Morning everyone,

Sorry I've been a bit MIA this week. I have been packing and saying last minute goodbyes. We are leaving Cornwall tonight for the airport and flying out tomorrow morning at 11am. So exciting! Once we get all settled, I'll update everyone on POE.

Just wanted to say Thank you so much to everyone for all of your help and support! Couldn't have done this without it :)

Good luck! Hope POE is smooth for you and your little boy :)

Well much to amusement Rashmi is doing her medical the 3rd, picks it up on the 6th, and does her interview on you guessed it the 9th. So the humor of the number of people from this group all doing interview the same date is at least making me giggle a bit.

Haha that’s funny! Hopefully we’re all getting some good news that day! Im

stressing out so much though.. literally worrying about everything right now 🙈🙈

Rashmi is the same way right now. I spent yesterday after work helping her organize all the pictures and chats into a series of word documents so she could print them in a condensed format. She didn't believe me on what the packet 3 was, by the time I got the e-mail last night she had already done all the steps based on what I had gotten from an e-mail inquiry I put in. Probably heard I was right for the last time in my life too. ;)

Given our current planned POE and Wedding Dates I am busy sorting through how much vacation I have left, when I am going to need to use it and such. Actually plan to get married about a week after she gets back, one of my cousin's is a registered officiant in the state and my grandfather is a retired minister so should make it easy to do.

We’ve actually never received packet 3 or the embassy letter. That’s my main worry atm as we went as head and scheduled the interview. My fiancé said they mean the NVC letter but he’s gonna call them tomorrow although people say not I worry about it I still do lol. Hahaha I always will Logan he’a right after my freak outs 🙈 that sounds great! When are you expecting her POE to be? We’re thinking right before Christmas as I need to give notice at work so we’re hoping our wedding will be early January 😊

POE will be November 29th, hopefully with that we can use her credit card mail I saved to get her license updated before she would need to retake the exam that way on the 30th. We will have to update after the name change, but she hates written tests. Wedding will be December 8th or 9th probably, just waiting to hear back from Cousin when she is available to perform the ceremony. Goal is to get her on my insurance before Christmas so she can get setup with doctors and other things we need to do.

I just initiated a Congressional Inquiry over USCIS delays and possible discrimination due to political affiliation. I'm done messing around with these hacks!

This is awful... I'm so sorry for you guys.. I hope your actions today get a quick response and you update your status very soon! I think someone else said this earlier, but we're all still here for you til it's over for everyone!!

I think I might contact my congressman too. I originally just was just being patient and had a 6 month reminder on the calendar from the date our case was accepted. It's been a bit easier for us because I've been able to spend the majority of the past year with my fiance in China,  but it's now a week past that and after finding this site I discovered a bunch of people filing around the same time were approved back in September. I called several times but they keep saying I should call back in 15 days because my case is still within the normal processing time. We were hoping to make it back before Christmas, but I've heard that scheduling an interview in Guangzhou can also set things back a few weeks or more. It's just frustrating to not have any case action. I mean even an RFE would have been somewhat comforting at this point.
