She said she would ask 4 questions and ended up asking him over 20 questions in a very subtle manner. Who petitioned you? What does she do? Has she ever been married? Kids? How old? Birthdays? What address will you live at in the US? When and how did you meet your fiance? What are your wedding plans? Why the courthouse? How many times has your fiance visited Nigeria? When did you get engage? What are the dates of your fiance's visit to Nigeria after you started dating? Asked for recent pictures. Pointed to my mom and asked who is this? Where's this located? Any pics including your family? Showed more pics. He told me that the waiting was very excruciating with all the different lines. He arrived an hour earlier at 6am for a 7am scheduled interview and didn't complete the interview process until 10:30am. I'm so glad to finished with the interview and now we wait for the visa to be in hand and then POE (Atlanta, GA).

 

Congratulations to everyone that is making progress with their K-1 Visa journey and my prayers are with those of you that are waiting for progress. Just know that it will come and that it's all worth it.

For all of those in the UK, I have written a Consulate review in the portal section. I thought I'd copy this part here as its probably the most important part of my review. And it may help other people out too ...

 

The questions I can remember:

 

- Who is petitioning you?
- How did you guys meet? (university)
- I see hes in the military: what job does he do?
- What rank is he?
- When did he join the military?
- You met in the military? (no we met at university)
- How old is he?
- Where is he now (I assume because hes on a military base and not at home)
- Where are his family?
- When was the last time you saw him?
- How long have you been together? (3 years)
- Has he been back to the UK since university (yes)
- When do you plan to get married?
- When do you plan to enter the US?
- You plan to live in North Carolina? (yes)

**The only thing I can really add to what other people have said is 1) You CAN take your charger and headphones in with you (I saw multiple people using them and the security guys confirmed it was fine). And 2) It seems there are lots of people with the same interview time as you, you get served on a first come first serve basis. So I was the last one to be crossed off the list for 13:00 appointments (from what I could see). So I got given number I917. People who arrived earlier than I did got I912,913,914 etc. even though it seems to me they had the same interview time slot.  **UK ONLY

I just got a call from Shehide and her visa was approved! We did a video chat and I could tell the outcome by her smile without her saying a word. They asked her 3 questions during the interview. 1. When did you meet your fiance? 2. How did you meet? 3. When did he give you your engagement ring? She picks up her visa next Wednesday and her flight is scheduled for October 30th. Edona will get to go trick or treating for the first time! Maybe tonight I'll rediscover sleep... Assuming the euphoria subsides.
