NVC "Administrative Processing", like 231 with the USCIS wasn't agonizing enough.  My fiancé was crying this morning because of the wait.  I just don't have the heart to relay this information.  I am feeling so beat up and depressed.  I just don't know what to do anymore.

I wish there was something we could say to make this better.  Just hang in there.  It has to be over soon.

Why; just tell me why it took 231 days for NOA2 (no RFE) and now NVC is dragging their feet with us with it still pending after 12 days when most everyone else got theirs processed between 2-7 days?   Wonder if our case file has "MESS WITH THIS COUPLE" stamped across the front?  :(

That sucks...hope I don't run into that too.

What’s worse is that I found out that we are in “Administrative Processing”.  NVC’s black hole of the unknown what will happen. Nobody will tell us anything and it could last for days, weeks, months or years.  My recommendation to anyone and everyone out there, GET AN IMMIGRATION LAWYER WHEN FILING FOR A K1 VISA!!!!!!!!  I cannot stress this enough!   The likelihood of someone being dragged through the mud is so much less likely.   We have been screwed from day freaking one.   It’s so unfair.

Generally AP status is just a status everyone goes through, we did. It takes about 21 days for NVC to receive and then about 10 days for the consulate to receive. This is on average.

The lawyer thing, I'm not so sure about. We had a lawyer hired, paid thousands, and in the end had to fire him and do it all ourselves because he was a moron.

Sorry you had a bad experience with the lawyer but I still think it probably helped get your case noticed quicker than without one.  Your NOA1 was just a few days before ours and we are still stuck at stage two of this process.  Most couples that have filed around the same time we did already have visa in hand with many already married.  In my honest opinion, still; we should have obtained legal counsel from day one.

Unfortunately, nobody knows what goes on at USCIS or what helps or doesn't. Personally, I think it's just a free-for-all over there and that it's impossible to predict or stage better or worse outcomes. I could drive a brand new car across the country and someone slams into me and never make it, versus driving an old beat up junker across the country and make it just fine. Having a lawyer is just one variable in the equation. If the case is given to a moron or someone that doesn't care then having a lawyer makes no difference. The Lawyer is bound by the same rules as someone filing without a lawyer. For us, the lawyer himself had an I don't care attitude and was rude and condescending, which made the already frustrating situation worse. He used to badmouth Visa Journey and tell me that everyone here was liars and egomaniacs.

I just hope you move quickly through the process from this point forward.

I don't agree with the lawyer thing either.  I do not recall a single instance here where the poster said their lawyer was great and really helped them.  I have seen hundreds of complaints about lawyers slowing things down and understanding less about the process than their client!

When were you approved, I was approved Oct 10 officially, I called NvC yesterday just for the hell of it and of course its not there, I don't think I'm too far behind you but from what I remember lately, NVC is taking up to 8 weeks. ...my fiance informed me he doesn't want to leave during the holidays anyways....I don't celebrate so not the biggest deal to me and I figure the timing is so close that it probably won't be possible given how expensive the tickets would be to buy last minute, we're hoping for 2nd week if Jan.
