Then find the consulate website for Croatia and there should be instructions. The NVC stuff is generic, but then consulate (after NVC) is unique to each country.

NVC is nothing more than waiting. USCIS now has to mail the package to NVC, who then sends that package to the consulate of the beneficiary. Once the consulate updates your CEAC number to READY, then you can start doing any consulate things that aren't allowed to work on until READY. You get that CEAC number from the NVC and can check for READY there. It's a different case checker.

Here's what we did for NVC:

  1. Started calling both the immigrant and non-immigrant NVC support lines two weeks after NOA2. Called every two days until we were told the case is received
  2. Called the NVC line that said our case was received every day until they give us a case an LND number.
  3. We waited until the case checker above said "READY". https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

Yours will not be LND (that stands for London). Expect it to be different.

Hey folks, I'm 'bringing up the rear' of Feb 2017 Filers with my NOA2 a few weeks ago.

Will the USCIS My Case show case progress after NVC sends file to Consulate?

OR, Does NVC mean my progress will be on CEAC from this point forward?

You will need to get your case number from NVC and then you will use that to track the status from now on at CEAC.

Follow the instructions @TriloByte gave you....that's what got me through.

As he said.....all of the embassies are different....and I called every day ;) until I received my case number  (mine started with ALG - Algiers)

I waited until the embassy received the file to begin doing anything else  (the 160 and medical). Algeria sends packet 3 via email  (I believe some western Europe countries send it via post)

Thank you everyone and thank you janet...I looked the directions up for croatia and sent it to him and even a little helpful cheat sheet from another visa website that helps you answer the question right...I told him its time to go get the police clearance and check on his vaccinations from his doctor....hes been waiting on that ...I guess in case we got denied....I already gave him everything when I went down in august but will give him updated income info for the interview...I am hooing hoping he can be here before new years...we'll see ...at this point I am just soooooo relieved that we got our approval finally....yay...my turn....I am sooo excited and it feels real that he will hopefully be here soon. I can't wait.

Congratulations! That must be such a relief!

About the police certificate - here in Ukraine the certificate is free and you have to wait for about a month, but there's an option to get it in 2-3 days if you pay for that. Maybe they do the same in Croatia, your fiance should be able to see it on their website.

So I found this on the us embassy croatia...its under fiance visa kinda confusing its suggesting I have to send affidavit and supporting dicuments to NVC...Idk this is getting confusing...every place I look its different and even all different forms...I'll have to email the embassy

After you have completed the steps on the Immigrant Visa Process on usvisas.state.gov, including paying the necessary fees and submitting the required immigrant visa application form (DS-260), Affidavit of Support, and supporting documents to the National Visa Center (NVC), they will review your file for completeness. Once your case becomes qualified for an interview, NVC will mail your file to U.S. Embassy Zagreb. Upon receipt of your file, IV unit staff will instruct you on the required steps to schedule an interview appointment for you.
