Ugh! I went outside today coz it’s nice! Just been staying home coz it’s cold and it snowed the other day! 😣

anyway, congratulations on your EAD update! Can’t wait to see my update too haha. Last timw they touched my case was March 25, which is a week before my biometrics. My status haven’t changed yet to fingerprints completed. :/

Thanks girl! Ya its soooooo nice outside !!! Its suppose to hit 71 tomorrow! Your ead status will never change until the card is being printed.. it will always say received. That's the way it goes.

The aos is the one that changes.

The EAD is just a stop-gap until you get your LPR, so you shouldn't need it for that length of time (hopefully). :)

I would hope not but chicago processing times for green card are 11.5 to 32 months (which is 2.7 yrs) and someone on here has been waiting over a year and a bit now. So i guess i was just a tad curious. If they are 1 or 2 years because ive been both.

MY case tracker UPDATED to "New card is being produced" for EAD today April 11.  118 days later !!! No emails, letters etc yet.

I applied for my ap only 9 days ago I'm really wondering if it will come on my EAD card. Should be interesting to see! If so maybe that helped push it through. I'll keep everyone posted !

I'm happy to see that approvals have been coming through lately closer to the 4 months mark !

WOW! An online case status update! That is truly a miracle! haha

Congrats!

He has to file for adjustment of status. You can refer to immigration guides on this forum, they give you pretty clear instructions.

Do you have wedding plans ? Court marriage ?

We got married within two weeks of me moving just to get the ball rolling.

When he gets here. Apply for a marriage license because you need one 24 hours before you are married in most states. Get married. Apply for your i485 adjustment of status, your i765 work permit and your i-131 advance parole (apply for them all at the same time because it doesnt cost extra if you do ot together)  you may have to wait until you have your marriage certificate to apply though ... I picked mine up from the clerks office to speed the process up !

Make sure to include copies of everything as if you were filing 3 separate forms but mail them all together. And get a tracking number for sure !!! I believe the cost was $1225 paying with check is the best because you can see when it was cashed. After that you just wait   work permits have been taking anywhere from 2 to 5 months but on average I would say more like 4 + months.  Good luck!!!

No worries I missed a step apply for Ssn# first as soon as possible! (You'll need the i94, k1 visa and maybe birth certificate)

I feel so behind also!!! We just finally got enough $$ saved up for the AOS fee which seemed impossible for awhile. Man was it difficult to recover from international travel expenses and the cost of a wedding on one income, but we finally managed! We are stubborn and refused to borrow money from anyone (even though we were offered many times) so it took a bit longer than we had hoped. :D

I've got all of the papers together and we will review/sign them this weekend, then sending the packet off on Monday!! My fiance is going crazy not being able to work, and the 3-5 month time frame doesn't sound encouraging, but oh well.

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

So im mad at myself for not applying for AP sooner. because i received my EAD approval letter and there is NO AP on it. So i guess ill have to wait another few months for that approval. and it will probably be a piece of paper. DANGIT!.. i thought USCIS might check if there was a pending AP application when they approve the EADs but i guess not. It must have to be filed together.

I only just applied for AP too so in your boat as well. I don't expect EAD til next month or maybe the month after. I am just so frustrated.

Hi all, I have been pretty non existant on the boards but I have been very depressed and stressed so staying away because I say things I regret when I am like this. :( My husband has gone to work once in the past 9 days. We can survive for the next two months thanks to the tax refund and hopefully I can work by then and support us because I think they are going to fire him at this rate. :( He is missing work because stress is killing him basically. The stress is his ex wife and his kids. Basically he gave the kids up to be adopted by her new husband 4 years ago so he is not financially obligated BUT they are his kids so he worries about them. Right now his ex wife and her husband don't work.  Their work is freelance writing. Somehow they try to keep 12 horses along with the fact they need a house to fit them and the 5 kids who are almost all adults but have no education or life experience as they homeschooled them. My husband regrets so much of that and that stresses him. Right now he is stressed because his 17 year old daughter Amanda said to him that they were being evicted and have to find a new place to live and that they only eat one meal a month. I perved the ex's facebook and sure enough it is that bad. I had banned my husband from reading her page because it stresses him out. The only reason he finds things out though is that the two youngest kids text him a few times a week. Which is good. He misses them terribly.

Also my grandfather is on the downswing now and could die any day. My sister says he talks about me constantly and I am the one he remembers the most in his current mind fog. Always asks her how I am doing in Colorado and how he appreciated that I came and visited him once a month for the past 6 years. He is 96 years old so has lived a long life. He told my sister that when we all get our inheritance we better use it for fun. LOL So he wanted to know what we would each use it for. I told her to tell him that my husband and I would travel to visit his kids for a vacation and also travel to visit his parents so I can finally meet them. He told her BANG ON! ha Such a very British expression and always one of my favs of his.

My Mum is flying to Denver on April 26th and I will pick her up there and bring her down here to The Springs. She is staying at a hotel literally a 5 minute walk away from us so that is nice. She will fly back the 29th, so is only down for a few days. I am super excited about that. I have plans of walking up to pulpit rock, going to Helen Hunt Falls, Garden of the Gods and The World Figure Skating Hall of Fame and Museum. My family are figure skating freaks. I used to skate and taught it years ago.

Anyway hope you all are well. HUGS Hope those in the AOS process are holding on. lol My office is one of the slowest in the country so the earliest I can expect an interview is likely next March. The processing time for Denver is 14-30 months. LOL
