Hi everyone,

I've been here for about 10 days.. Going to the social security office next. Can anyone share their experience?

For us it was super easy, we brought all our docs and I think they just used the passport and the visa in the passport plus the I-94. Don't forget the I-94.

The VJ SSN guide is all you need.

We got the card 5 days later with the red warning about needing EAD on it.

We did all this before we were married.

Just a quick update -- posted in January AOS as well -- we got biometrics done today.

I think this will be the last interaction with the government for a long time unless we get a RFE,

at this point it's just waiting for EAD and AP to show up and the notice for the green card interview

(if they require one at all.)

I would love them to not but alas I think more and more of us are gonna have to interview.

I did not submit it because in reality they should have it with our K-1 packet although that sometimes seems to get lost from reading older posts. So basically it is just a wait and see. If you need it they will ask you to have it for the interview.

I never had to do the wait time because my I-94 was in my passport as a paper copy which is rare these days but the SSN lady told me it was all she needed to get me my SSN card.

Everything we read said two weeks because of that very issue, so we waited two weeks.

There's a discusson that's pinned in the AOS filing board -- the only thing we included was the DS-3025 vaccination record from the K1 interview.

I literally just checked my case tracker and it says ready for interview for i485   weird because I didn't get my dad letter yet and that case # didn't update yet.

Might get a green card before an ead ! I'll keep everyone updated once I get the letter !

A lot of people's case status is stuck for months at "case ready to be scheduled for interview". When it's actually scheduled that what the case status says, if it’s even updated 😊 Mine was stuck on “fingerprint fee” even after my interview was done.

So you're saying that even though it says that it's ready for interview I may not receive an interview letter anytime soon?

Yeah unfortunately. But hopefully you'll have your interview soon. I don't know how fast or slow your field office is :)
