I went today to SSA ( I couldn't choose a better day to do this ) to ask for a replacement for the card ,since I ve got the EAD.

Of course , they couldn't help because of the government shutdown!! the office was open and so was saying on the internet , that SSA operates as normal. The lady at the counter said she cannot do anything , to come back when the US will have an approved budget!

We got rejected!

 

I’m so pissed... everything was good according to the CO but the said because of the travel ban they are rejecting it! Although its in effect it clearly states you can ovverride at your discretion.  So why say looks good then decline! 

 

UGH.

I tried going in to see if I can talk to someone even to get “closure” (Im the petitioner) and they wouldn’t even let me in the Embassy as a US citizen!!

 

The stupid gatekeeper was a foreigner.. or definitely not born/raised in the US (by her so obvious accent)...UGH SO PISSED 😡 It felt totally like racism... I even asked to talk to an “American” since she clearly had an accent and she said no sorry too bad.

 

Who treats their own citizens like that, not rven allowing them into their own embassy??

 

anyways... We are trying to figure out next steps....

What i gather after reading 200 pages of instructions it seems if you file together you pay 1140 and 85?

Yes 1225 total bio fee plus i485 fee only.

Thanks,,,,no just to try and make 1 trip to the office store to start the photo copy of all the documents they want all over agian from the I465, ead, and etc.. thinking some may want the same form. Looks like 4 photos again. 2 for i485 and 2 for another one i saw last night at home.

Many are also applying for a travel advance parole with the work permit and i485 just a heads up

If you file AOS, EAD and AP you need 6 pictures.

Did you try getting a waiver or did they not even give you that option?

Yes you sure do.  Like Marzena said many of us have filed our AOS. Any questions we are glad to answer.  Make sure to have the transcript for 2016 to include in it if you have already done 2017 taxes include that as well.

Thanks...i am just at my desk at work trying to make a list of all the supporting documents to make copies for each on that is required....pulling information from everywhere....then picking up my bride and making copies tonight...and mailing this thing tomorrow.

So seeing you are so helpful these are the four to send together too the lockbox...:)

With the I-485 and paperclipped to it I had a copy of my birth certificate(beneficiary), copy of k1 visa in the passport, copy of the passport biographic page, copy of the electronic I-94, copy of the admission stamp in my passport, 2 passport photos in a plastic bag marked with my name, Copy of the I-797 Notice of action of approved K-1 petition, copy of my husbands divorce decree, certified copy of marriage certificate

I-864 paperclipped to it were copy if IRS transcript 2016, copy of w2 for 2016, copy of my husbands us birth certificate

I-765 paperclipped to it were 2 passport photos in a plastic bag marked with my name, copy of the I-797 notice of action of approved k-1 petition, copy of certified marriage certificate, copy of the electronic I-94, copy of biographic passport page, copy of k1 visa in passport, copy of admission stamp

 

As you can see I did not want to leave anything out hence why I added so much. Now as for the I-131 I did not file it so maybe someone else can answer that one. I do know you need 2 passport pics for it. lol
