We had ours last Friday. It went well. The USCIS office was only a mile away from where we live. We got there a little early and it was in and out. They just took my fiance's fingerprints and it was done. Very easy and no issues.

Hi! First of all, my congratulations! You look so happy on your wedding photo

As for the vaccination info, I decided to start without it. The instruction says that you don't have to submit that form with your AOS application, you can do it later, before or even at your interview. I hope to finally send everything this week.

Hey everyone I'm finally coming to America this month having been an early March filer and received my k1 visa since September lol. My fiance will pick me up in my home country and we're planning to go straight to Vegas to get married there. Is it ok to do this? (I sure hope so since we booked everything in Vegas already lol) I read that many people apply for SSN before the marriage (and after the marriage to add name change) but will it be fine if I apply after I get married? can I apply with my new married name right away? Also if anyone has any experiences with POE at LAX recently feel free to let me know how it went cause I'm pretty nervous about mine. Oh and congrats for all the marriages and for those who have started the AOS process I wish you a smooth sailing journey

You filed around the same time as me so I would suspect you would get yours soon too. Did you fill out the G-1145 so that you can receive e-notification?

OMG I just got a call today from the Friends of the Pikes Peak Library. I have an interview for a volunteer position at their Used Book Store in one of the libraries. I am sooo excited. I hope I get a volunteer job because I believe this will be a great stepping stone to a real job with the Pikes Peak Library District.  Also gives me connections for when I go for a real job.

Update: In an exciting turn of events, my fiance had his interview at the embassy today. They had re-scheduled it for Friday with only two days notice after we contacted them to ask if it can still be scheduled in Delhi even though the process has changed to Mumbai only. Anyway, the interview went SO WELL and would have been approved if his medical results weren't still pending. The CO explained to him that as soon as the medical report is received (on the 6th of Jan.) then they will contact him to drop off his passport and said he will have the visa approx. 5 days after that. He asked her to explain if that meant he was approved, and she said yes not to worry all is good with the interview and gave him an estimated date of Jan 19th for when he should expect to receive the visa.

 

I am soooooooooo happy!!!!! After having to go through the sputum testing it felt like the 8 weeks would never be up, and now we are just a couple of weeks away from him getting the visa! Such a great way to celebrate the new year, with good news. Hope everyone else is doing well and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 

Ahhhh! The embassy contacted my fiance today to drop off his passport so they can process the visa!! So exciting!!! We booked his flight for the 2nd of February since that will give him plenty of time to prepare and for the visa to be issued. Can't believe we are SO close to the distance apart finally being over!!

Thank you!! Don't think I could've made it without being able to vent to all of you. haha. I will definitely post a POE and wedding pic! We are eloping at the end of next month in Sedona (beautiful mountain town in Arizona) with a few friends/family present.

Oh how lovely. And yes I don't think I could have made it either without the support of this group.  Ooh Sedona is so beautiful. I was there a long time ago when I was 12.  Should be gorgeous wedding pics there.
