I am having a super tough time right now. My 95 year old grandfather who turns 96 on January 2nd is in all likelihood dying. Both my brother and my sister are very sure he will not be leaving the hospital for a care home. My sister saw him yesterday and said to me how scary he looked especially since he had been so good up until a few weeks ago. He is confused, complains of being very achy and has told my brother a few times now that he is dying and is ready to die and often they know. I just wish I could be there but I can't and its hurting me so bad. I have been crying for a few days now but trying to put on a good face as much as I can. Grandpa Tupper is my last living grandparent and I am super happy that for the last 4 years I have gone to see him at least once a month until I moved here to Colorado. I saw him two days before I moved and when we said goodbye he said I WILL see you again but I doubt its in the living terms now. :( I know he is old and has lived a very very good life and seen many many wondrous things and some not so wondrous as he was in WWII as a tail gunner in the Canadian Air Force.

Part of me wonders if I should have stayed in Canada longer but when I left for Colorado my Grandpa was doing well. *sighs*

Sorry for the sad chat but I needed to talk to someone besides my husband. It helps to get it out there.

I am feeling a bit better now after chatting with my baby brother. :) He said he talks to Grandpa about me every chance he gets. There is no change today but there is always hope.

My husband decided that I needed to get out of the house so we went up to Woodland Park, CO for lunch and then travelled through Divide, CO and up to Florissant, CO. Was a nice day road trip that I so needed. We went to this great little doughnut shop on the way back to Colorado Springs. Was a wonderful day and now we are seriously trying to stay up the other hour and 7 minutes til midnight to ring in the new year. lol

Congratulations. You look wonderful. Well you both do. :D Hey I sent my AOS but I will likely end up a January filer cause my NOA1 is likely to come then :D @janet3 just sent theirs off too so we will be right there with you during AOS

Thank you so much, Becca!

Hope your grandfather is getting better!

I think we won't be able to get with January fillers. ((((

Due to the holiday period we still can't order marriage license copies because the courthouse didn't get our documents from marriage place; I've checked my vaccination card and as in @Eric&Olya case it says "K1" near complete box and so on and so far and I'll need to find doctor to complete this form.

So, I feel frustrated and confused. Trying to keep myself in hands and moving on.

Bthw, can I go and change my SSN without that copies of marriage license record?

And I guess I should wait for marriage license record copies to proceed with driving license?

Thank you! I hope the one I'm with is the one. There's a bit more security having her very best friend as my very close friend as well. We are all very similar and got along almost immediately. I feel much more comfortable and free to just be myself with her. That was one thing I realize looking back that I didn't have with Anna and should have taken more seriously. It's a breath of fresh air!

Congratulations! So happy to see others getting to this stage!

We're sending the AOS off today or tomorrow, wifey is off getting yet more passport photos. Has anyone done a count on the total needed? We keep getting past the 30 day mark on them, I'm pretty sure we've had to do close to 20!

So far the AOS filing, while time consuming, seems way less stressful than the K1.

Thank you so much!

Hope you've managed to send AOS as planned! Good luck with the next stage of this process! ;)

Update: In an exciting turn of events, my fiance had his interview at the embassy today. They had re-scheduled it for Friday with only two days notice after we contacted them to ask if it can still be scheduled in Delhi even though the process has changed to Mumbai only. Anyway, the interview went SO WELL and would have been approved if his medical results weren't still pending. The CO explained to him that as soon as the medical report is received (on the 6th of Jan.) then they will contact him to drop off his passport and said he will have the visa approx. 5 days after that. He asked her to explain if that meant he was approved, and she said yes not to worry all is good with the interview and gave him an estimated date of Jan 19th for when he should expect to receive the visa.

I am soooooooooo happy!!!!! After having to go through the sputum testing it felt like the 8 weeks would never be up, and now we are just a couple of weeks away from him getting the visa! Such a great way to celebrate the new year, with good news. Hope everyone else is doing well and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

WOW, great news!!! :jest:Happy for you!

Wish you, guys, to finally be together very soon!

Hello Marchies!

Those who started AOS or working on it - what did you do about vaccination information? My kids and me did get the vaccination form from our medical in Ukraine, and the kids' ones are ticked off as "complete" but mine just says "K1". According to the VJ guide, a USCIS approved doctor should transfer this info into Form I-693. I started calling the local doctors, and I am shocked that they want $200 - 300 per person for that:angry: That sounds so unreasonable...

Olya, did you manage to handle this issue?

I have the same situation with my vaccination card so your advise will be more than appreciated ;)

Woohoo. You are lucky that yours is so good. Denver is at like 256 days on average. :( So I am looking at probably November or December next year. lol Oh well least I am with my husband. That makes everything better.

Ha that is funny on the joint card. That reminds me I need to return to the bank and add my SSN to the account.

Where you monitor those timelines? :)
