This is the page where you can check. Just put your field office in. https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do

or you can check VJ's processing times here: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aosstats.php

is it this ? seems super outdated no?   October 31 lol   3 months old. wow! so i would assume they would be handling aos from march 2017 now. so thats what 9 months? Does that mean it would take 9 months to get a green card?

Field Office Processing Dates for Chicago IL as of: October 31, 2017
Form Form Name Processing Cases As Of Date:
I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status January 5, 2017

Probably because people put in the chicago as their field office in VJ and its just the lockbox. Like people who put in Texas when its just the lockbox.

I would say 9 months is the most and that just changed two days ago it was saying September 30th.

Woohoo that is wonderful. :D Hope you guys have been doing well.

Doing fine here. Moved to the states October 28th and got married December 1st. Love life so far but Christmas has been hard. I broke down yesterday as I really miss my family. I knew the holidays would be hard. We sent off our AOS before Christmas and still waiting to hear about the NOA1 for it. Yay waiting again. Decided today that I NEED to volunteer somewhere or I am going to lose it so I am dropping off a volunteer application to my local library to volunteer as a clerk for the Used Book Store or as a scanner for putting good Used books on Amazon. Their volunteer app is very much like a job app it asks for the last two jobs and personal references. So they may look at mine and go hahahaha and throw it out. :P I am hoping though that my last job being a librarian will help them pick me to volunteer. I plan on applying for jobs there when I get my EAD.

We just typed in my husbands SSN# and they mailed the transcripts to his home address they had on file within a few business days. You can make photocopies of them for future use and you dont have to waste you own paper and ink hehe :)

Good luck on your AOS etc!   we submitted ours aswell! I am not sure how long it would take for us to get a green card (Chicago) where do i look that up? June would be unreal like you said but i wont hold my breath!  we got our I797 fairly quick. I sent our AOS December 12 they received it December 13 and the NOA1 was dated December 18 (came in the mail a few days later)   We are also worried about the i864. We only provided last years earnings and tax transcipts etc.. than there was a question 19 b and c asking the previous 2 yrs earnings which we left blank thinking they were also optional and now im thinking we might be wrong. so im a little worried but im hoping they just use the 2016 and be done with it!

I wanted to print them out at home but couldn't pass the last step of validation. Oh well, it's sent -- I'll get the transcripts anyway after the fact in case it turns into a RFE.

As pajobra pointed out, you can see the AOS times on the site here. If your actual location is Chicago, (e.g. not the lockbox but the Chicago office), well... there's some bad news ahead. It's almost 3 years to the green card interview out of that office if VJ's status is to be believed -- my guess is that figure is wrong and it's misreported lockbox filings.

Ya I live in Chicago

And I agree it's just the incorrect vj timelines (lockbox)   can't be that different..

So i applied for a secured credit card with "discoverer it" today. You put a deposit for however much you want your credit limit to be (they hold the deposit for 8 to 12 months) but apparently they can help you get your credit built up fast!   Discoverer it is a good card because it gives cash back and no annual fee ! I think this is the best option to start building credit if anyone is interested look up "secured credit card discoverer it"

I tried to apply for a Macy's card first for fun to see what happens and it came back as denied "no credit history"

Apparently everyone you get denied a credit card it's a hit against your credit so I thought may aswell just go secured off the bat
