Congratulations!!!!    I love the dress!     I know what you mean about NE being cold this time of year.  Actually many years ago I lived in Bellevue NE - It was so cold and snowy - I remember the winters... I also remember the summers - All in all, Omaha is a fun city.

Thanks for the compliment on my dress, (my friend and I made it) Well I have only been here a month, mister has been here in Nebraska soon 4 years because he is in the airforce. We are in Bellevue!!! It's not bad but definitely not where we want to stay long-term. I like that is relatively affordable to live here and we will be able to save. When he just came to US he lived in San Diego for a couple years so here is a tad bit depressing for him. He LOVES the ocean....we thinking of Florida(cheaper than Cali).....for a number of reasons!!! Will see where life takes us.

Hey Welcome back. :D Glad to see you made it into the US finally. Welcome to the craziness.

Well I just have to drive my husband to work today so I can have the vehicle. Then I can head to the County Recorder office and pay for some certified copies of our marriage certificate. That is all I have left to get the AOS EAD sent out in the mail today! Super excited about that.

Know what you mean about the ocean, it's really nice to have it close by.  Ann and I just accepted a job in the Florida Keys where we will be living. (well I took the job because Ann doesn't have EAD yet but we are really excited to get moved down there)

So my 95 year old grandfather is in the hospital. He caught the bad influenza that was going around. My brother says Grandpa goes from knowing you to not but always asks how I am and if Colorado is treating me well. :) He told my brother he was going to die and I hate to say it but usually they know at that age. I hope he hangs on until January 2nd as that is his 96th birthday. I am a bit broken because he is my last living grandparent but he told me, two days before I left for the states, to not worry about his funeral because he knew I would be there in spirit and it was going to be very very small. My brother is the executor of Grandpa's estate and will and his POA and he told me today that Grandpa told him that I must use my inheritance for fun. No bills, no immigration. HAHA Sounds like my grandfather. He told me Grandpa asked what fun I would use it for so I told him to tell Grandpa that Chris and I would travel to see family and go across the pond to England, Ireland and Scotland so I can see where my family came from. I think Grandpa will be satisfied with that. I knew going into this that this may happen and the likelihood of me making it home was next to nil for a funeral. Grandpa is an old man and he has lived a wonderful life so far and seen so much in his life. He was part of the Hudson Bay Fur Trade in Canada even managed a trading post up at Norway House, Manitoba. He also was a tail gunner in WWII and I recorded him telling me tales of both and tales of how he met Grandma and how she HATED living in the north and that is why he moved back to Winnipeg to raise kids and he got a job with Sears and worked there for over 30 years before retirement.

Who knows though he may hang on and be with us longer but my brother says this looks like the end. He has contacted Uncle Bruce and told him to please call the doctors to assess whether he should make his way from PEI back to MB. My brother will keep me updated.

Nope, I'm not in the US yet. Going there next month. Need to tie some loose ends at work.

Just checking if anyone has any troubles with anything.
